any one do this?

I'm about to experiment with food scrubs, after some googling, it doesn't seem that hard.

Anyone got any tried and tested recipes, experiences?

I've never done a mask, but I've done some scrubs from sugar and olive oil before. It's not that hard! No recipes to share, but I've seen plenty around. I think one of Sarah Kramer's books has body product recipes in the back as well.

I thought this was going to be about making your own medical masks and scrubs (like what doctors wear). WHY.

Yes, scrubs are pretty easy. There's a thread somewhere on here about it but I'm too lazy to search.

I used to make a mask with yoghurt, demerara sugar, avocado and oatmeal. It's pretty good, but doesn't keep. Great if you catch the sun.

I'm going to try this out tomorrow:

Rice mask with matting effect

- allow 1 cup of rice to infuse in 3 cups of warm water for 30 min., then pour the water through a sieve
- blend rice water with some rice flour until it's paste-like
- add a dash of sake if you like

Apply the mask and allow it to work for 10 min. Rinse with cold water.

That's it. It's not tried and tested, but it sounds simple and seems to be effective. I'm excited to find out whether it really works. But I'm going to leave out the sake.

I'd be interested in making my own one day but as we speak I'm trying to find a good vegan cold cream in Australia.

I thought it was going to be about marking your scrubs and medical masks so other people wouldn't use them...I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting a story.
