I know that it's midsummer and I should have thought of this already, but here we are. I am on the hunt for super comfy walking shoes that are not sandals. Stylish is a bonus, as well as something less than $60. Anyone point me in the right direction? My husband and I take the kind of vacations where we spend a lot of time on our feet so yeah...comfy. :)
And while I do use the Lush lime foot powder for those not-so-fresh-after-long-walks-tootsies, maybe someone out there makes washable stylish shoes?
Help me? Pretty please?

i don't know how casual you want to go, but teva makes some mary janes that are really comfortable and hold up to washing well.

I dress like a really colorful 15 year old boy (I'm really a 31 year old woman), so I don't know if this would be what you're looking for, but in summer I like to wear running shoes made of light airy mesh like these http://www.zappos.com/product/7977803/color/356413 or these http://www.zappos.com/asics-gel-neo33-e ... e-hot-pinkI avoid socks whenever possible, especially in the summer, and my mesh running shoes never get stinky, though I don't actually run in them (or ever) so I can't promise they would stay stink free if you used them for actual running.

keds makes some cute canvas skimmers. i have a pair that i bought in 2006 or 2007 that are holding up well (they have a pattern, so i don't wear them all the time, but i wear them often enough in the summer). they do get funky, but i've tossed them in the washing machine and then let them air dry who knows how many times. i have weird feet that tend to rub/blister when i walk for more than four minutes in anything that isn't a skate sneak, but i've walked two miles to the theater and back in my keds with no tears.

If these are anything like their yoga flip flops then they are heaven. I love my yoga flip flops - they are like clouds! http://www.zappos.com/sanuk-june-bug-slate

These: http://www.crocs.ca/Adrina%20Flat%20II/ ... n-footwearYes, I know, CROCS. But they are SO comfortable and breathable. I can walk and walk and walk in these, my feet don't get hot, and the massaging jelly sole feels really nice on the feet.

I wore the Jazz on my last two major vacations, walking for about 10 hours every day for two weeks. My feet never hurt.

I had a pair of Saucony Jazz but I didn't find them very breathable and they made my feet hot so I gave them away. I love my Merrell's though.

I've had the same pair of New Balance walking shoes for two years and thus far have only had to re-waterproof them once. All other pieces still intact after walking up and down a very steep hill in them every day for over a year. They also didn't blister my feet when they were new, which is rare for me. Not the most stylish, admittedly, but walking was my main way of getting around at the time.
