I scoured the other skincare threads and found a few mentions of eye creams, but I was hoping to get some more recommendations here.

My issue: Lines under my eyes. Probably from old bad habits of scrubbing off thick eyeliner/glitter and rubbing my eyes when stressed.

I take pretty good care of my skin, but I've never bothered with an eye cream before. Do you have a favorite?

I had a gift card for Macy's so I picked this up on a whim: bareMinerals firming eye treatment: http://www.bareescentuals.com/Firming-E ... TREAT_EYES

It had good reviews, but I'm not in love with it.

I've been using a sample of one from Murad I got in a Sephora order, and I love it, but I don't think it's vegan. I've been considering something from Dermalogica because I've read that most of their products are vegan. Before I started using the Murad sample I had used one from Derma e that made me eyes water and burn, and one from Alba that did nothing. Fine lines are my problem too, and I'm not messing around with cheap eye stuff anymore, so hopefully the Dermalogica stuff is vegan so I can buy it, and hopefully it's awesome.

I was searching for the vegan-ness of Peter Thomas Roth's eye cream and found this for Murad: "Murad: Protecting animals by testing products on people, by using ingredients that have not been animal tested and by supporting and sponsoring animal rescue groups and oceanographic teaching institutions." via specktra.net: http://www.specktra.net/t/80609/nars-an ... testing/30
So, not sure if it is vegan as I couldn't decode most of those science-y ingredients, but looks like it isn't tested on animals, woo for that!
Laura Mercier doesn't test on animals, but her eye creams appear to be loaded with beeswax.
I'm hitting up my lady friend who works at L'Occitane to ask if the eye creams are worth checking out.

Just an FYI, L' Occitane have been moved to Peta's Do Test list, and have been taken off of other cruelty free lists I've seen, I assume they're selling in China.

And yeah, I had the same thing with Murad, as well as Mario Badescu, it's all CF, but I don't know if it's vegan or not. I think I'm going to email Murad and ask though, because this eye cream is seriously amazing.

I heard back from Murad on the eye cream I love, and they say it's vegan!

My name is (I deleted her name because I feel not right sharing strangers names on a public forum) and I am a member of the Customer Care staff here at Murad. Murad is a family business, not an anonymous corporation. Because excellent customer service is a top priority for Murad, Richard Murad, our General Manager, personally asked me to address your concerns.

I am so thrilled you are enjoying the eye cream! We would first like to confirm we do not test on animals, only humans and the Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes does not contain any animal or insect derived ingredients.

On behalf of Murad, I hope that I have addressed your concerns to your satisfaction and ask that you please contact me directly if you have any future concerns regarding our products or service. Furthermore you are welcome to email me with any account or skincare questions as well. I would be pleased to be your personal Skincare Specialist.

I haven't heard anything from Dermalogica yet. The Murad eye cream is $60 for a half ounce, which is mind bogglingly expensive, but from my experience with the sample I only need a tiny amount for both eyes, and I only use super rich extra moisturizing eye creams at night, for daytime I use something cheap from Alba or Yes To that has caffeine and brightens a bit, so the Murad stuff should last me a long time.

Just got an email from Dermalogica, and it looks like all their eye creams are vegan
Quote:
Dear Jessi,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Please view the following list if you have any concerns regarding ingredients.

You will want to avoid the following products for vegans:
Contains Chitin derivative:
• Antioxidant Hydramist
• Dynamic Skin Recovery
• Extra Rich FaceBlock
• Extreme C
• MAP 15
• Power Rich
• Super Rich Repair

Contains Honey:
• Gentle Soothing Booster
• Intensive Moisture Masque

Contains Silk Amino Acids:
• Active Moist
• Skin Smoothing Cream
• Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover

Contains Salmon DNA (We do not come into contact with the fish, we actually just extract this from the water)
• Daily Defense Block
• Extra Rich Repair
• MulitiVitamin Body Block
• Oil Free Matte Block
• Pure Light
• Super Sensitive Face Block

So I'm pretty happy, especially because their email was so detailed.

Wow those are 2 very good customer service experiences! I am so tempted by the Murad stuff! Last week I got my first eye cream, by Laidbare, called Pack Your Bags. I like it so far! No huge results but I used it only a few times.

Yeah, but after I got the response from Murad and posted it here I checked the ingredient list again and googled all the ingredients, and one of them can only be obtained from shellfish, so I'm going to go with the Dermalogica. Probably the Intensive Eye Repair. Which I hope is amazing, because I love the Murad Hydro Dynamic, and I'm very bummed about what looks to be bad information from them.

I was using the coffee one from 100% Pure - I liked it! I switched to another brand when I was out but would go back to the 100% Pure one if I could find it locally (due to 1 month shipping problems - due to poor customer service)...

Ya, when I talked to Murad's customer service about stuff - they stated they use shellfish stuff in some of the line.
