water resistant a positive, warm, even more so.

i see in other threads that you guys like your bogs. :-) (they look warm, but they look a little too much like rainboots to me.) i need something i can walk a long distance in, but also wear them inside without having to change into inside shoes.

i like the look of chunky shoes, but they never seem to have the right support, and my gait is sometimes impeded by the clunkiness.

i have large calves, so most tall boots won't work. unless they have laces, i suppose. (anything that comes up to mid-calf usually uncomfortably bruises me with each step. so i need either tall boots or ankle-high, or a boot that has soft material mid-calf.)

someone in another thread mentioned airseals. these are cute, but i'm looking for other suggestions before i shell out $200 http://store.veganessentials.com/airsea ... p2831.aspx
thanks!

I am ALSO very interested in responses to this query. I want/need some decent shoes that I can walk in that will keep my feet dry. TIA PPK!

PS I am not so much into boots. I do not have to deal with snow, just rain. And puddles.

If you like the Airseals, check these out too - http://www.veganline.com/bouncing-boots.htm The last pair I bought are still going strong, they've stayed the most presentable of all the boots I've ever bought.

thanks! i also just remembered that i've always been a fan of the more blunt toe. pointy toes are not my style.

they seem to be too flat in the toe/front half of the foot. (gosh, i am so picky. haha!) also, aren't they calf-ish height? they would have that problem of bruising the back of my calves.

How about Sorel? I have some canvas ones but they seem to have a few vegan options. This looks to be vegan

a friend of mine has these and they're adorable and super comfy (i'm not sure if they're too open on top for what you're seeking though): http://www.zappos.com/keen-sienna-mj-canvas-black

I have nothing helpful to add, just that the title of this post has had me humming the tune from the old Easy Spirit "Looks Like a Pump, Feels Like a Sneaker" commercial* all afternoon.

I guess they're sort of between the ankle and calve, but they also have vegan ones that are just ankle-height shoes and mary janes now, I think?

Those are so cute!

I only ever buy canvas shoes, even though I live in the land of never-ending rain. I'll pull on some Wellies on a particularly bad day. I usually buy cheap shoes/boots and wear them until they self-destruct. A couple of years ago I was walking around San Francisco on a rainy day and the sole of my boot literally disolved on the pavement. I'm not even kidding, it DISOLVED.

I just ordered these in an effort to have something more practical for winter, even though they'll probably end up totally not being practical at all. http://www.modcloth.com/shop/shoes-boot ... place-boot

those are supremely cute! (i have a pair of the earth mary janes, but the faux leather material on the toe got all scuffed up within a week. guh. i still wear them though.) i will keep those in mind for the springtime. thanks!

those are cute too. is the rubber up and around the foot distracting? i would love a pair of those that didn't look so much like winter boots. heh.

those bouncers look great too. (i might just have to resign myself to the fact that the chunky shoes with lots of headspace in the top/front of the foot are a product of the '90s and that no shoe manufacturer makes them anymore.)
