Curvy ladies of the PPK-
Where do you get your underwear? And what brands? I prefer bikini-style pantaloons, but a lot of the time they're cut in such a way that I feel like I'm spending half the time picking them out of my asparagus. I usually wear a size large so it's not hard to find my size, but it's like the underwear designers don't understand the shape of people's butts. Help?

I feel like my underwear from Aerie is the least likely to do that, and it's pretty cute and affordable.

I like Calvin Klein, the stretchy no line showing ones. They seem to stay in place, and no lines under your dresses!

I like Aerie as well, I wear an XL and they are definitely comfy.

I wear small-med sized mens jersey shorts. They don't go up my bum when I exercise and the lines aren't terrible visible under clothing.

I like Pact. They are expensive (I think), but they fit well. And the owner is a friend of a friend.

Aerie or Victoria's Secret when I wore a large. Aerie seems to make muffin top more often than VS though.

I like the Aerie boybriefs! They don't ride up. Plus they're always having sales.

I would just like to say that the Victoria's Secret cotton bikini unerpants that I repeatedly buy are not that good for this situation, but I just keep buying them because it's easy and sometimes they are $5 each. I don't even think my bottom especially curvy... it's just bottom-shaped! I will have to look into your recommendations.

Victoria's Secret has terrible underwear. They fit weird and the crotches are weird and they are overpriced. There, I said it.

I've liked gap body boy shorts and bikinis, Hanes, and now that I have a particularly voluptuous backside I wear either target's microfiber boy shorts (although they are overpriced and sometimes fall apart in the wash) or very expensive boy shorts made for camping which are just incredible and perfect but will run you $20/ pair. Will find out brand name if you're interested.
I have not found briefs or bikini cuts in general to be forgiving to the larger asparagus. Another way around this problem is to wear thongs and just get used to the constant wedgie instead of fighting it. I was never able to do that, though.

Let me preface by saying I'm not particularly curvy, just big. I mean, I'm not an hourglass shape which is what I think of when I hear curvy.
I think Victoria's Secret is the worst. I started wearing gap bikinis a couple of years ago when I had a gift card and I haven't turned back. They do tend to wear out in the wash a bit...I have some that are unraveling at the seems, etc, but they are comfortable.

I probably shouldn't be answering this since I'm not exactly curvy, but I recently bought pantaloons from Soma and they are, for the most part, the best ones I've ever bought (the one exception was that some of the thread on the pair of the travelers bikinis I bought unraveled the first time I washed them).

The undies that work best on my curvy bottom are GAP low-rise hipsters (XL). The elastic sits perfectly at the junction of my thigh and butt cheek and I like the low-rise because I'm short waisted and normal hipsters come up to just under my underwire. I've yet to find another brand anywhere that fits me as well/comfortably. The only problem is, there's no GAP over here and the ones I have are starting to fall apart, so I've got to stock up when I'm in Toronto next month.
I love the idea of boy shorts, but the lack of elastic around the leg holes means that they ride halfway up my butt once I've walked two feet in them.

Yep, I am what Levi's has chosen to identify as 'BOLD CURVE' and Gap Body's underwear is not only cheap but fits well, too. I wear the bikini cut. No regrets.

Target's Xhilaration boy shorts are nice. I got a bunch on sale for $2 a piece. http://www.target.com/p/xhilaration-jun ... large_1_28I love that pug.
