My boyfriend wants a jacket: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Produc ... &VariantIDOn the tag in store it says that is cotton/poly but excludes trims. The only trim on the jacket is the zipper and cord. I assume it is vegan. Help! :) I need to order it for xmas!

It says that its ribbed knit trim on the link you provided. That may be wool. Quote: A utility jacket featuring a drawstring high collar with a zippered accent. Full zippered placket and buttoned flap. Four flap pockets and two welt pockets in the front. Long sleeves. Interior drawstring at the waist. Ribbed knit trim. Quilted lining. Woven. Heavyweight. I assume that there is a knit boarder between the metal zip and the cotton/poly material of the shell and lining, to attach the zip and give a closer fit (hence ribbed).

I did not even see that! However looking at the picture online and in-store the zipper & buttons were just attached onto the jacket shell.
Edit to add if you zoom on the collar you will see it is just a standard zipper...
Arghh...

It's more likely that the fabric part of the zipper (the tape) is a cotton, poly, or a blend. Knit doesn't necessarily mean wool in fabric terms. It's pretty unusual to use wool for the tape.
My guess on the label is that they use the same label for multiple garments. The base fabrics are likely the same but the trims differ.
Personally, I'd still buy it. Will you have time to return it if it comes and you realize it's not suitable?

Maybe you could email them or something? I find that forever 21 often says when something is wool in the description. So they can brag.

I found this as a replacement: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/perr ... slotId%3D7I am seeing if it is OK. I personally think it would hold up better. I rather buy a nice jacket than some F21 fall apart number but the boyfriend really liked that jacket even after I was like F21 will just fall apart after the season...

I went back today. The jacket says 'excludes decorations'. The SA said it meant the buttons! :)

Yeah, I would also agree with c&s, I doubt that would be wool. Wool is stretchy and has memory, which makes it great for sweaters, but something like holding a zipper- it would be too stretchy.

I got this back - but after reading the jacket in-store and asking a sales rep. I do not know what to believe. Because it says that the jacket is poly/cotton and exludes decoration. Decorations would not be sleeves, that would be body... I just ordered it. I am at a loss. :/
Dear K,
Thank you for emailing us with your concern.
The trim is wool and is included in the jacket sleeves. Inside the jacket is not wool.
I canceled my order...:(

I'm guessing there is a ribbed knit wrist cuff on the sleeve (to keep the arms warm & dry) that contains wool. It appears from the photo of the product that there is a cuff protruding from the main body of the jacket.
