Espe makes super cute, vegan, fashionable handbags and wallets.

Unfortunately, the quality is questionable.

I received an adorable purple handbag for Christmas last year (ordered from Herbivore) and for most of the year I just used it when I was going out somewhere, but I've made it my primary bag for the last two months. The bag has been "peeling"- by that I mean, bits of the coating are coming off, leaving brownish/orange-ish patches where the purple was.

I'm still using it because I'm tacky and don't care, but just wanted to give you guys a heads up before you buy one! I *think* the handbag was around $80 or $90.

That sucks, 'cause those are some cute bags.

I had the same problem with a purple boho bag from them. The fabric of the bag comprised of two layers - the outer "leather", and inner "suede", glued together. After only a month of having it, they started separating badly, until it was completely separated all over. I emailed Espe about it and never even received a reply. Shitty. I still have an Espe wallet, it's my second one - which I love, but I have noticed that even those peel.

Well that's disappointing. I've been eyeing these off for ages. Thank goodness I never actually bought one.

Thanks for posting this! I have seen these bags around the city and adore them, but glad that I haven't spent the money on one.

I have a super cute writing notebook I got from them for my bedside that's still holding up, but that's not a high wear and tear item like a purse. I like their designs, but I've not (yet) bought one of their purses or wallets, though I've been tempted.

Bummer, that's very expensive to just be falling apart...
