I've recently come out of many months of just doing baking soda or water only washes. I tried the water only wash for several months, but it didn't work for my hair. In the past, I've used several of the BWC shampoos/conditioners and Nature's Gate. They've always been fine, but don't seem to do as much for hair as some other pregan products. What are the best for you??

i've pretty much only used aveda stuff on my hair for the past umpty years now. i really like it, and almost all of it is vegan so the label-reading isn't too awful. for the past couple of years i've been using the shampure shampoo and conditioner, but i've also used the rosemary mint. my stylist told me i have the perfect hair type (whatever that may be) for shampure, so i trusted her judgment and i've been sticking with it.

Yeah, I've heard great things about that...I'll have to look into it.

i mostly use lush shampoo bars and the jungle conditioner. but for my birthday my friend gave me shampoo and conditioner from the salon she works at. the company is abba and it says 100% vegan in big letters right on the front. it's been really nice for my hair, but i'll probably go back to my lush stuff once this runs out.

For some reason, I totally forgot about Lush! I've never used any, but I might just have to order. I don't think I can bring myself to spend $20-30 on one bottle of shampoo (re: Aveda).

I switch between Ion (Sally Beauty Supply private label) hard water shampoo (says vegan right on the label, so that's a plus!), Paula's Choice shampoo, and Shikai Platinum Shampoo because I have horrible hard well water where I live and am trying to tone down the coppery brassy tones in my hair.

I've had really good results with Desert Essences; I used to try all sorts of different hair products, but I've stuck with their raspberry shampoo/conditioner for almost 3 years now.

I love Lush but am broke as hell right now, so I've been using Trader Joe's Teatree Tingle shampoo & conditioner. My hair's not as nice as when I have my Lush stuff, but it's actually pretty nice, and it took about a month of the switch before it was even noticeably different. So now I'm thinking, maybe I'll just alternate months of Lush stuff and the TJ stuff.

I am using up the last bits of Aveda hydrating shampoo, and I am using Ojon hydrating conditioner. I love the smell of it, and will probably switch over to the matching shampoo when I'm done the Aveda stuff.
I have hard-to-manage hair, and cheap stuff just does not cut it...my hair will feel like hay. There is a noticeable difference in my hair when I use the good stuff.

I switch back and forth between Aveda and Lush. I like Aveda when my hair is longer. Right now I have shorty short hair and I'm using the cinnamon Lush bar. I love that one, especially when the weather gets colder (just because of the cinnamon smell).

I usually use shampoo bars from chagrin valley soaps (online) they clearly label which ones are vegan. I have noticed a huge difference in the quality of my hair since using them. I also recently have used kiss my face shampoo and I like that as well.

I have to go with Aveda Shampure. I LOVE the smell and it makes my hair really smooth.

I like Lush's Synthia Stout shampoo, Jonathan's no frizz shampoo and I am currently using Giovanni's smooth shampoo because it is the purest of the bunch. For conditioner I use the Loreal ever pure (vegan one) and it is really good.

Most Aveda products are under $30 for BOTH shampoo and conditioner unless you are talking the humungous jug sizes. It is actually cheaper than a lot of the stuff salons sell. I just bought color conserve shampoo, conditioner, plus a dry remedy hair mask conditioner for $58. By far the most expensive item was the Dry Remedy at $26 (which is amazing).

Their products do last a long time for me and especially since I don't wash my hair everyday. Def worth every penny!

I'm using Lush Big and Veganese at the moment. I'm going to switch to Jungle (solid conditioner) soon and give that a try. I've used Aveda in the past and it is good stuff, lasts a long time too.
Oooh and I use Lush Jasmin and Henna Fluff Ease for a treatment.

I have a question for all you Lush users - does it strip colour (dye) from your hair much? I've yet to find a shampoo (vegan or otherwise) that doesn't have my colour washing down the drain...

I use Aveda Colour Conserve, and I like it. I had a sample of Shampure and my hair felt a bit glossier so I'm going to get that when this one runs out. I think its always good to change it up anyway.

I use a citrusy shampoo from Trader Joe's and I just got a bottle of LUSH Veganese conditioner that I think I am going to like.

I don't colour my hair, but I'm a Lush fan and the general consensus is that their shampoos and conditioners (to a lesser extent, but Veganese is still pretty 'cleansing' or something because of the citrus and SLS) do tend to strip colour.
