It makes sense though. They want to get non-vegans to try out/use more/switch to vegan products maybe. Because non-vegans will finally hear about Vegan Cuts too and might subscribe. We get glad when vegan cookbooks get into the hands of non-vegans, so why not this too?

Vegan Cuts has some quota of people who need to review both boxes each month, it's actually led to some pretty hilarious reviews because it's all about if they have a decent amount of subscribers or not. But those are one-off reviews, i'm bummed that the people who are brand ambassadors aren't even vegan (and honestly, I don't think anyone needs to get the box free every month to do a review, they're only going to convince so many of their followers to buy it and repeat reviews aren't going to make much of a difference).

I got the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box as an unexpected gift this month from a coworker, and it was super nice of them but yeah the box wasn't that great. The nail polish is nice, but everything else was pretty ho-hum. I think I am totally over beauty boxes for the moment. I have beauty box fatigue.

I got sampled out. I'd rather spend that $20 on stuff I know I want at the moment... I might sign up for a different box in the future though.

while i hated another round of nail wraps via PV - i still liked some of the stuff in the box. the anti-stress serum and hair stuff was rather nice. the skin care samples were good to. the lotion was a great hotel tester as i look for a firming cream (not a pass - but good to know)...i feel that PV has a more nice feel as were VC just felt jumbled up...

did anyone catch vegan cuts on instagram today?

http://instagram.com/p/ma5WP_sdUu/

they are giving a shout out to ud. i think promoting a swag bag in which 98% of the stuff is not vegan is kinda lame.

I left a comment. If they're cool with parent company testing, what about the products that are in the beauty box? I know that Melisser never would've curated products with parent companies so i'm not worried about what I got when I was subscribed to the box, but my confidence in them as a company is waning.

i just think the whole thing is lame - like 'hey look free stuff'...over it!

i am kinda craving the oil from this months pv box. i am not sure if it is behind my hair looking dope/feeling dope or the #4 shampoo sample i scored at vegnews spa day. i bought the shampoo, will buy the oil.

I haven't even gotten my first box but i'm super annoyed because I switched to VP because they'll send you chocolate and treats for your animals too.

This is making me glad I cancelled. I know the parent company issue is a grey area for people, but posting a photo of your swag bag pull of free animal-tested makeup on the Vegancuts official instagram and being like, "OMG URBAN DECAY! <3" just leaves a bag taste in my mouth.

It sucks that Vegan Presence is closing!

I cancelled Vegan Cuts a few months ago yet they sent me a box this month. And billed me for it. I had to recancel my subscription.

i was thinking about trading vegancuts for petit vour but didn't make the decision in time, so my april vegancuts box is on the way. meanwhile, SO SAD about vegan presence! i've been getting those for over a year and i really like them. always different stuff, always in line with things i like (including color preferences and skin type), boo hoo sniff.

I don't understand because it sounds like the problem is her business is too successful, the boxes sell out every month. Hire someone part time to help out? Quit ruining my life? Just send me stuff every month?

I meant to add that I found this hella shady.

I would complain to them and try to get a refund. I still think they have really good customer service. And if they don't and you want to, you can call your bank. Once you cancel they shouldn't be touching your card info.

i caved and signed up for petit vour. my last two vegan presence boxes (may/june) are technically free (thank you, referrals! xoxo), and i'm still considering canceling vegancuts. so, i wanted to be excited about something new, heh. i missed the deadline for the april box, which means i have to wait another month, so as a greedy gus i bought their limited luxury box in the meantime. it looks nifty, and it's $40 for over $100 of product.

i think when i originally subscribed to vegan presence i bought a whole year, but later they switched it to shorter amounts of time, like 3 months.

Hmmm, I might get this month's Vegan Cuts box because I have some acne scars that i've been wanting to fade and there's a super pricey fading cream in this months.

... but if they say "youth or vanish" doesn't that mean you might get the one that you don't want? :(
