I really need a watch. Haven't worn a watch since I was a preteen and was into the big digital ones. Now I'd like something that a) works, b) has numbers on an analog face (I can read analog time, but not amazingly well), and 3) looks nice. I like these Olivia Burton watches, but the bands are all leather (http://www.oliviaburton.com/). Any recommendations for a good, nice-looking vegan watch? I've been saying "I really want a watch" around my boyfriend for like 4 years now, trying to give him a hint for what to get me as a gift, but it hasn't worked.

I'm not a watch wearer, but in general I've been really into cork as a sustainable leather alternative lately and I've seen cork band watches pop u on my instagram feed. The other watches I've seen and thought had a really nice fancy look are the ones with the wood bands, but those might be chunkier than what you're looking for.

Now I want that Olivia Burton bunny watch.

Maybe they could do the vegan strap on other styles?

When I wore a watch I used to always wear metal bands and I liked fossil watches. That was 20 years ago though so not sure I fetal bands are still popular

I'm allergic to most metal so I go with Swatches (I really am stuck in the 80s.)

I like the idea of cork as leather.

*dying* because of the filter-mind.

And on-topic... I did a quick search on etsy for "watch -leather" and found some really cool looking items. Kinda makes me want a watch again!

I used to buy Swiss Army (now Victorinox) watches for several hundred dollars because I thought they looked nice and it was an investment, but after having 2 die on me and a watch guy tell me they are not that great I now buy Fossil watches. The watch guy says they are actually pretty well made. We have a Fossil outlet near us and you can often get a nice one for half price too.

If you sew you can make your own watch band. It's tricky but I've been making mine for about 6 years now with a Timex after my original leather band broke.
