ah no, I love healthy mix serum too. But if they have happy light, I'd recommend giving that a go. Bourjois confirmed to me that the happy light foundation, primers and concealers are all vegan! What I would say is though that I've found the shades are not the same as healthy mix. I'm a 51 in healthy mix and a 50 in Happy light (in winter).

Thanks for the recommendation! They do have Happy Light. Healthy Mix Serum in 51 is a pretty excellent match for me, so I'll keep the color difference in mind if I try it out. Would you say it's more or less suitable for dry skin than Healthy Mix Serum?

speaking of blogs - i am trying to do more beauty stuff on mine to. i am trying to answer friend's questions & junk mostly right now:
www.missmuffcake.com

i bought the elf stick concealer, i will give it a go this week. i was going to head to sephora this weekend but the weather was crepe & my knees were bothering me. i am kinda lusting over the leopard love blush by too faced. i have had it on my radar for a long time. the last elf blush i bought was really light & does not give me a pop of color...leopard always warms my heat so maybe...

I'm dry and it doesn't cling to my dry patches. I use the dry/normal primer underneath and I absolutely LOVE the primer (they do an oily/combo primer too so that all skin types can use this foundation).

MMC, I just followed your blog too!

In other news, I have just had confirmation from Makeup Geek that their gel liners are vegan. I thought they were and I'm glad they've confirmed it because I LOVE them and they have some gorgeous colours.

Thanks! I'll check out the primer as well. I get pretty dry in the winter and it can get gross with the wrong foundation.

Good to know about Makeup Geek! I was eyeing a few of those recently.

Isn't Bourjois owned by Chanel, so they are selling in China now?

Does anyone have a recommendation for an eyelid primer other than the Fergie one? Preferably something available at Sephora (no Ulta near me).

They don't sell in mainland china (they do sell in HK) and I'm not 100% sure of the affiliation with Chanel. I don't think Chanel actually own them.

Baps - that Sleek palette you reviewed on your blog is GORGEOUS. Some of the other palettes are marked as not suitable for vegans - that one is for sure okay? Because if so I will be ordering it asap.

I'm pretty sure they mark all their palettes as not suitable for vegans. When I questioned it, a couple of years ago, they said it's because they're manufactured on the same line as stuff with beeswax in!

I can't see anything obviously non-vegan in it. I'll shoot them another email to see if the answer is still the same.

(Ps it really is lovely!)

I like the too faced shadow insurance. It looks pretty tan coming out of the tube, which had me worried, but it blends out to clear on me (I'm pretty pale).

It looked okay to me too, so hopefully the answer is the same! I adore every color in that first row.

TFSI isn't vegan, unfortunately - it's got a lanolin derivative in it.

Has anyone ever seen the regular Manic Panic makeup in the wild? Someone on youtube told me that she bought some of their stuff recently and the foundation she bought says 'vegan' on it. They don't put their ingredients on their website so it's impossible to tell what's vegan unless you can find the stuff in the wild.

I have gotten to the point I don't wear any makeup at all anymore. Of course, I'm in my 50s and I think it's kind of nasty for someone my age to use makeup in the same manner that much younger people do. What looks good on 20's and 30's somethings - on 50's not so much. That said, I would like suggestions on some kind of shadow that might be appropriate. I've had a look at the naked line on UD's website. A bit pricey, but might work. Anyone got recommendations for other companies' vegan makeup that doesn't cost a body part or two?

UD's naked palettes are lovely, but not vegan - however MUA, a UK-based company, makes great (and CHEAP) dupes that are! Silk Naturals also has dupe sets if you're not opposed to loose shadows. If you like mattes, Too Faced has a nice matte palette. Pacifica has two great neutral shadow palettes as well. I love Tarte's cream eyeshadows and they have a couple of vegan quads. ELF's prism palettes (two of which are fairly neutral) are great but they do have a very metallic finish.

I plan on wearing glittery eyeshadow and eyeliner until they feed me to the fishes.
