I like the Cover FX concealer but I misread the price before getting to the register. I probably wouldn't have gotten it if I had realized how much it was.

What exactly does eyelid primer do?

The most important thing it does is keep your eyeshadow from creasing, sometimes they make eyeshadows stick better too. The Fergie WnW one is the best one i've tried, I have oily eyelids and they're slightly hooded so eyeshadows crease on me in about two seconds.

Anywhere you can find the Fergie line so Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid.

I was satisfied with the $1 ELF primer, but this thread made me buy the Fergie primer and it blows the ELF one away. I'm pretty much obsessed with it.

thanks, i'll keep my eyes peeled! i have something from etsy that's not perfect, but "tiding me over" after ditching the UDPP, so i'm pretty excited to find something actually awesome again. (even if it says fergie on it.)

I've used it with high end eyeshadows, cheap eyeshadows, cream eyeshadows, natural ingredient shadows, and so far nothing has failed.

The ANF groupon is still up but I decided to pass because I spent like all of my 'fun' money on makeup last month (and Brian even said 'you spent a lot of money on makeup last month' and he never says anything to me about what I buy) and I need/want to get other things this month. Like cookbooks and maaaaaaaybe a Vitacost haul which technically could include makeup, but i'm not going to let any makeup company sales tempt me. Please hold me to that.

The Fergie is a dream product. It keeps shadow off my black liner - it makes things just stick like magnets!

I've only seen the Fergie makeup at one store but now I feel compelled to go back and get it.

And my Pretty Zombie eye shadows arrived!

Booo, I don't think the Fergie primer is in Canada and I'm having trouble finding a site that will ship it here without an astronomical fee. I have super oily lids and the only thing that has ever worked has been UDPP. Sad face. There are people on ebay selling it for $7-$10 a pop!

I had a reply from tarte re. the silk powder in the eyeliner pencils:

Quote:
Thank you for contacting tarte cosmetics customer service. The silk powder is a synthetic ingredient that we use in the liner. We do apologize for any inconvenience or confusion. We will definitely look into marketing the product more clear. Thank you!

I didn't buy this particular product but I'd be inclined to take them at their word. I guess we'll see if they update the ingredients to reflect what they say.

So if you did buy it, you wouldn't return it? I have it sitting in the box. I've used it and like it, but I don't know. I may use the one I bought and then wait and see what they say. It's funny, but I take this all really personally. I feel intense brand loyalty, and when a company does something to make me question them, I truly want to shun them. I really like my Tarte purchases though. The textures are so nice.

Did anyone else get the blusher/bronzer combo? Man, the blush is intense!

nah, if it were me personally I would not return it, I would take them at their word. Not sure how this will all play out but I think in the meantime I would certainly use the product.

I love the eyeliner pots I got, very intense color payoff as well, and good formula, easy to apply.

Okay makeup experts, I'm looking for a highlighter. I got the ELF one but I'm feeling very meh about it. Recommendations? I would prefer something I can get at Sephora.

My favorite is TheBalm's Mary Lou-Manizer. I don't know if TheBalm is sold at Sephora, though. I will occasionally just use a shimmery, light eyeshadow as a highlighter as well.

I actually saw that brand at a fancy Walgreens yesterday but I didn't know anything about it and was in too much of a hurry to Google. They actually had a lot of brands I'd never heard of that looked interesting. And they had the Fergie eyelid primer, which was what I wanted.

TheBalm at Walgreens?! Holy crepe, that's awesome. My Walgreens are not nearly that fancy. I don't know what else is vegan, but as far as I can tell the highlighter is safe. It's got a really short ingredients list.

This is a Walgreens aimed at tourists in the Empire State Building. They had so many brands of makeup I had never seen. I'd like to go back when I have more time. Also, for anyone in NYC, the Duane Reade on Spring and Lafayette also has a lot of higher end small brands.

Walgreens has been experimenting with some different stores. Like, higher end beauty, able to get sushi, nail salon. There's supposed to be a couple in Boston, but I haven't checked them out yet. I did stop by a regular Walgreens for the Fergie primer though.

blondiefk: are you looking for a liquid or a powder? I'm going to look into the Guerlain one after seeing in the powder thread that the company appears to be OK. ETA: I think Guerlain are LVMH group, so I don't know what that means. Man, this stuff is confusing.

Guys, I had a makeup dream last night. First I dreamt that ELF launched a ton of new products so I had to make an order. Than I dreamed that Target started carrying Flower Beauty. Saddest awakening ever.
