I would like to purchase my husband and myself a nice box of vegan chocolates for valentines day. Which is the best brand? We've had Sjaaks chocolates before and are fans. But what about OCD? Or Lagustas Luscious? Any others that aren't on our radar?

The chocolatier behind No Whey is a PPKer and their chocolates look very yummy, though I have not yet had the pleasure of trying them. No Whey has a gorgeous collection of Valentine's Day chocolates here: http://www.veganlightchocolatenowhey.co ... collection

Divine Treasures was recommended to me a few years ago by someone on the PPK. I ordered a sampler box and very much enjoyed it and did not want to share it with anyone, haha! Here's a link to their Valentine's Day offerings: http://dtchocolates.com/product-categor ... tines-day/ . The chocolates are expensive in comparison to a company like Sjaak's but well worth it for the quality and craftsmanship.

Ooo, Lagusta's are delicious and full of really interesting flavor combinations. I like their work philosophies and their inventiveness! It might be too late to put in a Valentine's order, but I would definitely check, they are amazing. My sweetheart got me some one year and there was one with chilies, one with mushrooms...

I love lagusta too! We got the anatomical hearts one year for valentines and it was the cutest. Their truffles are the best I've ever had! Rescue chocolate is another good one that has a teal cat bar with figs!

OCD is SUPER delicious. Their caramels are amazing. Rose City also makes really delicious stuff, and Vegan Treats has some Valentine's stuff available for order now too: http://www.vegantreats.bigcartel.com/

Charm School chocolates is really good! The owner won Sweet Genius. Everything is vegan (including milky chocolate!) and some are soy-free, too.

if i had $75 to kick around then i would go for the vegan treats skull & bones box:

http://vegantreats.bigcartel.com/produc ... colate-box

but then i might be more rational & think $75 would buy groceries for a week and skip out...

Thanks for the tip, I bought my bf the little Be Mine box. He's not a vegan but he won't care haha.

I think i might have to buy myself chocolates for valentines day. Or maybe just tell my boy that is what i want.
Is Lagustas the one that has twix bars? That used to be my favorite candy bar.

I love Booja Booja truffles! And OCD! I've not tried the others except Rescue Chocolates which were good and great cause and all but not the best I've had. I get my splurgy chocolate locally and it looks like they do mail order now. Amazing. http://www.purelovinchocolate.com/ (eta: I spoke too soon, sorry! I think they can only deliver in Canada)

I'm confused about the veganness of Charm School. Many of their products contain confectioner's glaze.

ETA: I asked them on Facebook and they assured me that their glaze is 100% vegan. Whew. I want to put all of their chocolate toffee almonds in my mouth.

I also LOVE booja booja truffles! i think they are worth it - really quality, tasty stuff. for new year's, i bought myself a large variety box of their truffles, and was very happy and surprised at how flavorful they were. the chocolate is very good, and they do a great job of letting the individual flavor element of each truffle shine through/complement with the chocolate.

Yay! My boyfriend said we could go halfsies on candy. I am proud to be the type of person who would rather spend money on chocolate than a fancy dinner.

Just to follow up - I ended up ordering a Valentine's day sampler from No Whey Chocolates as well as a small Nut & Chew assortment from Sjaak's (through Vegan Essentials). They both were just delivered, but I have put aside until next week!

I also ordered some white chocolate-hazelnut Sjaak truffles and a white chocolate pretzel bar from No Whey.

It will take all my willpower to hold off opening until next week!

I'm about to give OCD many, many of my dollars in exchange for creme- and peanut butter-filled chocolate eggs. Oh yes.
