on the old board there was a thread about dishwasher soaps, and a bunch of people highly recommended the method dishwasher tabs. i bought a bag on those recs, and HOLY BAHJEEZUS they are magical.

i had stopped using my dishwasher entirely because i couldn't find a soap that got things clean and didn't leave heavy soap residue. the method tabs get things clean AND clear. i'm so happy to have a useful dishwasher again! thank you, ppk!!

I love them too! They are the best! Sometimes I use white vinegar as a rinse too. That really makes 'em shine.

I haven't tried the Method tabs, though that's what I was looking for last time because of that thread. I found Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day packets instead and those are really great, too. HUGE improvement over the Seventh Generation liquid I was using before. I have to gently squish them a little flatter because they're too fat and round to fit in my soap cup, but they work really well.

I am really excited. I must try these because the Seventh Gen liquid sucks and never gets my dishes clean. My roomies bought some crazy toxic stuff that works really well but I hate using it. YAAAY Method! They don't test on animals either do they? Is it a vegan line? I have heard that most of their products are...

I was using the Seventh Generation packets and they sucked. I just bought this stuff and it ruuuuuuuuuuules:

1 tbsp per load + white vinegar in the rinse container = clean, sparkly goodness.

Is Method the brand that's sold only at Target?

Whole Foods and Hy-Vee (which is regional) sell Method as well.

Hmm, I have a bottle of unopened 7th Gen dishwasher detergent. Should I return it?

If you haunt Groupon you can get a $20 for $10 coupon at Soap.com, which carries Method. That's how I picked up 3 bags of Method dishwasher tabs and a container of their laundry detergent for $15 in early October. That one container of detergent goes a long way, too--we're still using it.

I would, haven't used it in a few years, so maybe it has changed, but that stuff is terrible. I've bought it a few times at different places, thinking maybe it was my dishwasher, but nope. It just sucks balls. Personally, I think their sink dish soap doesn't work well either.

I started using it 6 months ago, in a brand new dishwasher. I can tell you, it still blows.

My dishwasher is fairly new, so it will suck in mine too then. I will return it. I really want to like 7th Gen products because I have a bunch of their coupons. Their laundry detergents never wowed me, none of them smell good. They just came out with liquid hand soap, maybe I will use my coupons on that.

Yeah, Method are the best green dishwasher tabs I've found. And the grapefruit scent! Love it.

President's Choice Green dishwasher tabs are equally good too. They're sold in Canada, not sure if in US but if you can't find Method, PC Green's get the job done just as well. They're scent-free.

We've also tried the 7th gen. stuff and it sucked.

We use Earth Friendly Products "WAVE" high efficiency gel and it's awesome. Really cheap per load.

But I might check out the method stuff too.

I've been using the seventh generation detergent and my dishes never come out nice. I thought it was my dishwasher but now that I know it sucks for everybody, I have a renewed sense of hope. I will hunt down this method detergent.

I got some! They're pretty nice! I kind of like the tablet as opposed to shaking out a clumpy box of powder and getting it all over the place.

Method tabs are the best eco dishwasher tabs I have ever found by far.

eco friendliness aside, this is hands down one of the best dishwasher soaps i've used.

and, a little late to the party, i HATE seventh gen products.
