Any ideas for tough gloves? I need to wear gloves when out with the conservation volunteers- to protect the non-cutting hand when using a bow saw, in case it jumps and the blade catches the back of the hand, and for picking up piles of thorny branches. All the gloves they provide for people who don't bring their own gloves are basic leather gardeing gloves. I'm looking to get a pair of my own, non-leather gloves. The type of gardening gloves which are fabric dipped in rubber are utterly useless against thorns.

I found a site which said these are vegan:

but that looks a bit too fancy for what I'm doing.

The same brand makes these:
http://www.mechanix.com/automotive/the-original
but as far as I can see they don't offer much protection to the back of the hand.

These looked promising:

but they have a spandex back so presumably that wouldn't give much protection against a saw.

Has anyone found tough vegan gloves that they like? Ideally ones which can be bought in or shipped to the UK.
