for some reason, i'm digging these:
Image

i saw the leather-lined pair in the store the other day, and they looked much better on the foot than sitting on the rack. then saw the vegan pair. but i'm not entirely sure..

on that note, i can't see to find vegan sandals like that one, or these, without leather:
Image Image Image Image

anyone have any rec's where to look or how to search? google isn't too helpful... i really like the one big "strap" over several straps on the sandal, and being able to just slip into them.

i was also excited to see john fluevog has (limited) vegan options. i found a pair i loved, but they are totally out. searching in vain for these: Image

Icy, I saw those top ones at DSW the other day and tried them on. I was surprised at how cute and comfortable they were when on! I was tempted, but I really need black sandals, so I didn't get them. If they made them in solid black, though... I'd be all over that.

I don't care if I'm unemployed, shoes make me feel better so I ordered these:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0061J1CN8/ref ... 25410_item

They were like a gazillion percent off so I felt it was necessary.

Right?! I felt I couldn't rightfully call myself a shoe lover if I passed up that deal. I'm so excited to get them, I keep refreshing the tracking page :D

FabulouslyFierce, I ordered those Olsenhaus shoes you posted. Thanks for the heads up on such an awesome deal! They are so cute - I got a ton of compliments on them.

You guys. You guys. I'm always looking for cool shoes or sneakers at Goodwill but very rarely find any that are cool AND in my size AND vegan. I found these yesterday and thought they were just barely-worn grey and green Converse. Then I got home and went to fix the laces and saw the lining:

My ratty Ethletic low tops are rapidly disintegrating, so these were pretty cool to find.

Just developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot and now seem to be stuck wearing ortho shoes with uber arches. May I just say that I wish someone would develop really sweet shoes for those of us with foot issues? Or at least be able to add spikes to my black orthotic shoes ;-)

Yay! I have heard a couple places that they are very comfortable but I was still doubting. That's what I'm most excited about. I just want shoes that can be dressy, are comfy, and aren't either super dowdy or super high heels.

I think the flat ones are really cute - but do they have to be so expensive???!!!??? o.O

Yeah after I looked at them some more I figured that was why there wasn't a lot of chatting about them... They are pretty pricey, but in the end I gave in. They're sustainable, made in the USA, versatile, lots of things I've been looking for. I had some "don't know what to get you so here's money" left over from xmas, so I ordered a pair!!!!!! I will model them for you all when they come in. :) (I will paint my toes pretty first.)

Hey sorry to dig up such an old post, but I was wondering if a year later people are still digging these. How do they hold up? I was thinking of getting the flex moped lows, but for that money I want to know they will last a few years.

Have any of you modified existing shoes? Like added spikes or painted them? I get that it's easy to pain canvas sneakers but I'm interested in painting and spiking pleather shoes.

I've never added spikes, but I've done some painting of shoes for costumes, and a number of my friends have done some cool painting projects that I want to try myself once I can find some shoes.

My suggestions are as follows, from limited experience: use leather paint, because it is meant to bend and move and won't flake off, and then cover the finished shoe with a sealant or fixative. This is often something that can also be purchased along with leather paint, because it is meant to seal and preserve the paint on the finished leather. However, I am obviously not painting leather, but have had success using leather paint on non-leather items. I like to then spray with the waterproofing spray you can get at outdoors stores for a little added protection (though I have no idea if that's even doing anything at all or just a placebo for me).

Thanks! I didn't know there was such a paint type. I'll look for it. Hopefully Micheal's will have it.

I like a couple styles from that kickstarter icy posted about up there ^, and in other kickstarter news, Beyond Skin is trying to fund an expansion to put out a line of more basic, affordable styles:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/477 ... -expansion

I don't know why out of ten designs they need two pairs of heeled loafers... but I'm all for more vegan shoes.

I doesn't seem like they're going to make their goal. Too bad.

They just launched it yesterday, so I don't think we can say that quite yet!

Oh, I only saw the 19 days left. Such a short time frame! I hope they do make it.

Really liking both of these, but kind of leaning toward the quilted ones, which are also $10 cheaper. I might want to change to black laces if I bought them though.
