Depends on where and when you're going and what you'll be doing, but yeah. Something cushioned that you can walk in without wanting to kill someone (my personal rule for day shoes is at least 10 km/ 6 miles). You are likely to encounter cobblestones, yes.

You're going in the fall, right? I'd consider looking for a pair of (comfortable! walking-friendly!) boots. They'll work if you have any dressier outings (dinner out at a nice place, maybe?) and be warm and supportive. And if they're the only shoes you bring you don't have to worry about the bulk of packing them.

It has a tendency to rain in autumn... so you might want to think about that? You probably know this, but make sure the shoes/boots you take are broken in and comfortable. You will most likely be doing a fair amout of walking. Again this is vague since Spain and Sweden are both Europe but don't exactly have the same climate.

Thanks, guys! It'll be in October, and everywhere we're going is in Central/Eastern Europe. I'm thinking a pair of boots with some insoles, but I don't know what pair...

Sounds like a good choice, I hope you'll have loads of fun. October will be cool but not freezing in those areas I think. I have athletic insoles in my 14-eye boots. Makes them very comfy for walking/dancing. A highly recommended solution. Do you wear mostly jeans/trousers or skirts/dresses? For the flight it is probably nicest to have boots that are easy to put on and take off.

Totally late to this, but this is what I did last time I was in Europe. I took two pairs of cute ankle boots and popped insoles into the pair that didn't have great cushioning. They served me just fine! I think I have pretty resilient feet though, because most of my shoes are not supportive and are generally inappropriate for lots of walking and I always feel fine.

I bought vegan old school Pumas last week! I hope to see more vegan old school sneakers come out.

Nope. I've never had any of the barefoot shoes before, so we'll see how I like them. In any case, I figured they'd be good to keep in my purse while traveling. Most of the other traveling shoes like that are either not vegan or are too big for me.

There are some really cheap Melissa shoes on Alloy.com and Amazon.com, like $35 and under. Also, Victoria's secret has a few sandals in the same price point, in case anyone is interested.

found $8 accidentally vegan shoes at target today. v. excited, especially since the only pair of shoes I have right now are these: which I love, but are beat up and not exactly summer-appropriate, y'know? I have giant feet so I rarely find shoes that fit me on clearance! yay!!

MissMuffCake, I've seen Pastry shoes before but somehow forgot all about them on my search! I love the purple ones, and there are so many at such a low price, I might have to snag one! Thanks!

I bought a pair of Mizuno's that said "fabric made in china" Nothing looked leathery so I assume they are vegan since it said "fabric" and no mention of leather. They felt really comfy and I needed new work out shoes. And they were on clearance so very cheap. And I needed new workout shoes.

Those shoes are so cute Jaine-Pie! Did not think they'd be that inexpensive. ASOS sells them for double

I imagine it's a problem with the types and colors of the materials, but JC vegan shoes always look like a very muted version of their normal line. Which could go either way, but I find it a little disappointing. Nonetheless, those Oxfords are cute!
