This is crappy because it's from the side, but BAF is down right now (that is my one complaint about them, their site is often slow or down): Wood is great for hanging stuff because it's really light. It's not often cheap, but i'm less afraid that i'll drop one and it'll shatter into a million pieces than I am with glass.

Am I the only one who forgets what gauge they are basically all the time?

Nope! A few months ago I brought two pairs of nice wooden plugs that were 2mm too small, and didn't realise until I put them in when I got home. I still wear them for work sometimes when I won't be running around and having them fall out of my head without me noticing.

Not me! I wear 14mm in both ears and I have a 5mm hole in the cartilage of my left ear. Maybe I don't forget because I've had the same size for 7 years and don't intend to go bigger or smaller?
I have 12 piercings in total, though I used to have way more (my record is 31 for a few days!)

Oh boo, apparently they don't make mine anymore: http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdeta ... uctID=3963But you can go to this section and dig through: http://www.bodyartforms.com/products.asp?jewelry=ornateOr search for 'ebony wood'. I like ebony because it's black so it doesn't necessarily look like wood.

I will get myself some someday and I'll post pics.

Do you think teardrop plugs would look good on someone who doesn't have very large holes? I think I might be 9/16"... oh yep, I just checked my email from my last purchase. 9/16" or 14mm... anyhow, what do you think?

Now that you all got me thinking about plugs again I was looking around amazon and this was the most popular 'plug': http://www.amazon.com/Pair-Black-Acryli ... 02_01_t_lh!!! I did not know these existed. Boo!

I don't really belong in this thread but I got my ears pierced (I know, crazy!) last year at this place in San Diego http://www.apogeepiercing.com/I'm so obsessed with their earrings. I bought some over Christmas and I love them. They have some I really like that are 12g but I have to wait.

Mine are 14mm and I have a pair of striped wooden teardrops that I think are pretty cute. I'll have to remember to take a photo when I get home.

Yay. Oh also, I looked in my drawer today and after seeing all my old size plugs I thought, I wonder if the PPK would be interested in a swap for our old sizes? We could post the current size we are, or the size we want to be soon, and then post a list of the jewelry (size and brief description) we don't use anymore. It could be an ongoing thing, people could post that they are interested in something and maybe offer paying for shipping or a trade of something else.
Anyways, maybe most people already gave away/got rid of their old sizes, and it doesn't need it's own thread, and I should just post them in here.

I'm glad this thread got started! I've just begun the process tapering my ears. I've orderd some stainless steel tapers and have had these 14g expanders in my ears for about a week. I know I've got a lot of time ahead of me, and I'm in no hurry. This thread is going to be such great inspiration and motivation to keep going.

I started stretching mine recently too! I'm on 16s right now...my ears have been pierced for 14 years but they still close up if I don't wear earrings for a week, so I'm going slow. It's exciting though :)

I just ordered these! I'm excited. I'm sick of my boring solid black plugs that I usually wear for work. These are neutral and inoffensive but also super pretty. I also ordered some concave katalox ones but they're less swirly and exciting.

I just bought some 16g and 14g expanders too (my ear piercings are teeny-tiny)! What kind of lubricant (if any) are you going to use?

I typed a whole bunch of stuff but then my computer took a dump, so: http://forums.bodyartforms.com/showthre ... y-piercingI know that some sites call those crescent pieces 'expanders' but they're not made to be stretched with. Jojoba oil is my number one ear lube of choice, it's fine for ears that aren't healed and it's great for massaging your ears.

So it seems like you use the stretchers for a certain period of time during the day? I'm guessing you can't sleep with them right? Then wear other jewelry to keep stretch?
