What nail polish are you wearing?

I found a Uk ebay store that can ship Nubar to Australia! I'm still after an apple green and I'm trying to decide between Green Tea and Reef Green. I googled them both, Reef Green looks like it might be a bit fluro once on nails and I already have Zoya Tangy which was a bit yellow and not what I wanted :( I'm also going to get Sugar so I can have gorgeous nails like Bastah!

It looks like OPI might not be vegan for much longer. Coty is trying to buy them out for 1 billion dollars (OPI is trying to be bought out). Hello animal testing!

Boo :( Guess I should stock up on my favorite colors now.

Thanks for the update re: Nubar's sale. Now I just need to justify spending this much money on nailpolish.

I just bought their manicure and pedicure products and a tonne of their polish for using on clients! Now I might have to find a new range. THIS SUCKS!

No, OPI, no! It's too expensive for me, but they have some lovely colours. Dumb question: how do you figure out which nail polishes are vegan? I seem to get conflicting information about China Glaze (cheaper than OPI, good colours, actually available) for instance.

I emailed China Glaze and they said they didn't use animal ingredients or testing, but you'd probably want to email again specifying things like silk and guanine since sometimes companies don't know those are animal products.

That's sad. Most places here use OPI for manicures, I went and got one today because my nails were awful, I got Cha-ching Cherry! I love it - here's a photo

My Nubar polishes haven't arrived so I went back to using my Zoya colours.

I have Zoya Creamy on my hands - this image comes from this website, they review lots of shades

And Zoya Juicy on my toes - this looks so, so different on compared to the colour of the bottle

Also, I think my base coat is ruining my nail polish. It's by Bloom and I think it's gone a bit sticky. Has anyone used the OPI one? When I had my nails done they were so smooth compared to what I've just done now.

Add me to the list of people inspired to start painting nails. I'll have to start with a manicure though... and I might just stop by Myer and David Jones department stores and use their testers to do my nails. I have a feeling the Chanel is about $50 a bottle, isn't it?? :o I'll find out and report back!

There used to be a couple of beauty places in Brisbane selling Spa Ritual but I'm not sure if they are still selling it. I have a couple of colours from them and some BWC and Inika polishes but nothing I really fancy wearing at the moment. I should revisit though rather than start an expensive new hobby! ;)

Any of you Aussie/NZ girls know of other local brands that are vegan and not too expensive? I miss the crazy Barry M colours from the UK - I should have asked for some for xmas from my UK relatives.

So Myer had Chanel polishes at $35, although the selection on offer was a lot more limited than I had expected - none of these amazing colours I'm seeing posted here! :( Mostly all varying shades of pink, and black.

They also had Essie, about $22 from memory (or it might have been $17). Again, nearly all pink, only about 2 colours that weren't pink.

I didn't have time to look for OPI but I know they have it at David Jones.

I'm not sure how economical shipping would work out individually, but I just was part of an NZ group order from this place - http://www.nailetc.com/. They've got Zoya, OPI, Essie, and some others, all way cheaper than they are in stores here, and over there, I imagine - the Essies are around $4.49USD right now, on sale, and Zoyas are around $6. The site is a little hard to navigate and their photos are crepe, but I had decent luck just looking on the brands' websites and searching there for colours I was into.

Hey BC! I buy Zoya from Art of Beauty and Bloom from Myer, there's usually a deal, buy 2 for a special price or buy 2 and get 1 free. I'm going to look at DJs for some OPI this week.

Gave myself a French manicure and painted Barry M's crackling polish on top. My nails usually start chiping within 48 hours, but this crackling stuff is indestructible! It's been 4 days and no sign of chipping!

OPI has been acquired by Coty, but they claim that the polish will still be cruelty free and 3 free... the question is, since money from the polish will still go toward animal testing, even from a different brand under the parent company, isn't that still cause for concern? What do you think? Sally Hansen, Rimmel and N.Y.C. are also owned by Coty

Booooooooooooooooooooo. I just bought a few today :( I just read this, Coty says they do not do animal testing unless the govt. insists? what the fizzle. Wish they would make it official
