Turns out; nail polish does not look good on all hands.

mars in high school i realized that - or thought that - all reds/pinks looked horrible on my hands but non traditional colors - blue, green, etc - looked cool. reds and pinks to me usually look better on my toes. :D
that being said, right now my finger nails are zoya zuzu and my toes are zoya indigo.

Well I wasn't thinking the color so much as the fact that my hands are all rough looking, and short-nailed.

Had you just put up nail polish I would have probably been mesmerized by the bright color. And my nails are almost always short. I have a little length now but only on about half my nails, so I look silly.

It's defo a Calcy colour! Sinful Colors Rise & Shine - I can't get a good photo of this, it's more of a dark grass green with a bit of a shimmer to it. Here's someone else's pic, much better

I don't have polish on now since I removed it for pie crust making purposes.
I don't don't know what to wear tomorrow. Since Black Velvet cooperated so nicely, maybe I'll try the other problem polish. Frisson, I think? It's the silvery white metallic streak fest from Spring.
Hmm. Attraction? I think that's it. I've never worn it out of the house and actually almost returned it in disgust.
If I do that, I need to find something to wear other than my red and white striped shirt. I don't want to look like a candy cane.

Or, Frenzy. Possibly with matte top coat? I'll wear my black jeans, black ruffly cardigan and either white or black tank top depending which one I didn't forget to wash. I need opinions! Frenzy: Attraction: I wish my aunt would hurry up and send me Skyline. She bought it back in August. It seems rude to remind her though, so must be patient; she will remember eventually.

We get dressed the same way! I actually never think about matching my polish to my clothes. Getting dressed is the last thing I do before leaving the house so by that time i'm already in 'holy shiitake i'm late' mode. That's also why I don't wear eye shadow on the daily.

I dont match my polish exactly as try not to clash, because that would annoy me. If that makes sense. Usually it isn't a problem since I wear black, but if I end up wearing one of my non-black things like a blue shirt, I don't want to end up wearing red polish and looking like a walking flag.
Also, I have to get up and leave the house well before 5am, so if I leave planning what to wear until then, I'm so screwed because I would never find anything. I'm a get up, shower, wash hair, get dressed, kiss the bird, and leave all within 15 minutes kind of girl. Kissing the bird takes the longest some mornings.
My favorite thing about my long commute (silver lining and all) is that if I wash my hair, towel dry it and run a comb through it it is dry and reasonably presentable by the time I get to work. If its frizzy, that's what hair sticks are for.
I don't attempt eye makeup at all unless I get to work early enough to hog the faculty bathroom.

Frenzy becomes super boring mattified. Not a great first experiment! I'll cover it up with some glitter later.

Like chop stick looking things you stick in a messy bun. Years ago, I did graphics for a woman who made them. She usually used bone (eek) but made special wooden ones for me.
I like them because they distribute the weight of hair better and reduce pulling and I don't get headaches. I don't think they are very fashionable right now, but I bet you could find some online.

Oh, okay. I've had those in the past. I was thinking it was some magical frizz-reducing product that you knew of. :)
Anyhoo, I've been completely nail lazy. Nothing on 'em for weeks. Work pretty much sucks lately, and I've let the suckiness bleed into the rest of my week - so I've had zero motivation to do my nails. I know that having pretty nails would make me a little bit happier, but I just can't muster the energy. Bah.

Oh, no, sorry. Just my usual "hide it" approach.
Sounds like you need to break out the glitter or something.

My dance teacher was totally distracted by my nails last night, it was pretty funny. He had to check them all to make sure they were all dotty! hehe Dotty french. I love them but one is lifting so I will probably re-do them at the weekend instead of leaving them on 2 weeks. Terrible pic, sorry.

Mars, rock it! I don't like long nails, so I always keep em short. And I look weird in warm reds, so I always stick to cooler tones.
My nails have been bare for a few weeks, even my toenails. So sad. Maybe going to put a coat of OPI "Tease-y Does It" on tonight.

Tease-y Does It looks awesome, paprikapapaya! I have a similar shade on Every Month is Oktoberfest. I was going to do something else, but the woman at the salon was wearing this (gel version) and then I wanted it!
Lovely, baps!!

Update on base and top coat search:
I bought Butter London's basecoat and their PDQ top coat and it's made a huge difference even with other brands of polish. I painted Friday evening and only today had to touch up the worn tips to get through another few days. One tiny chip on my thumb but that thumb is always a problem since its nail doesn't grow quite right.
Another HUGE bonus to the BL PDQ top coat! I can blow my nose within 10 minutes of painting and it doesn't wrinkle at the nail tips!! In sneezy weather, that's critical.
