I hate it because it's so pretty and I specifically didn't want a polish I need to layer. Because I have a lot of those.

Chanel Taboo--thus amazing purple glittery thing. I didn't know there were mid-season polishes coming out. Damn it, which do I buy?

Why do I have to spend all my money on copays and not nail polish? I'm pretty sure nail polish would make me feel better then a forking gastro I see for 3.2 minutes* and who prescribes the same shiitake that hasn't worked for the past forking year. Yes, I'd definitely rather have pretty nail polish.

*totally accurate. He was so obviously in a hurry, I timed the mustard.

I'm a mess today. Didn't go to work. Is it a coincidence that my nails are peeling and chipping Frenzy from last Thursday? I think I'll wear grey (grey and white pinstripe shirt, jeans, and darker grey lace cami) on Friday and break out my neon orange polish.

What else would go with silvery grey and be cheerful? And am I the only one who plans outfits around nail polish? (I don't have a lot of clothes, so this actually isn't too hard)

Anyone interested in swapping for a bottle of Zoya Dulcinea?

I love the color in the bottle, but it just doesn't look right with my skin tone somehow. I really really really wanted to like it on my nails, and I tried it twice about a month apart and now I just have to admit that it's not going to work. :(

What if you did just one coat of white or light grey underneath? Then it would let the color stand alone, but still not show the nail line. Or would it still be too sheer?

Neon orange... or neon anything sounds wonderful! Or a lovely coral might be nice, and definitely spring-timey. Feel better!

Nice! Pics when you're all sorted? I re-organised mine the other weekend, it felt good to get it all under control again. I've put a halt on buying any until a. I get more nail swatching sticks or b. til I get to the USA

I really want it, because it looks awesome, but I am a bit sick of glitters that need loads of layers and it apparently eats top coat. So, I'm holding out for now.

BL was on sale on a deal website here, I ordered Fiver and Cuppa from the new collection plus Two Fingered Salute. They'll take a month to get here, booooo

hers is still kind of on, mine chipped off same day so I took it off. it's better over other colors i've decided.

I have that gold glitter, I'll have to try it over a mint polish!

And these are from Femme Fatale: Librarian's Shush, Winter Hyacinth, and Fatal Attraction



Now I just have to pick which ones to try first!

Ooh! That Winter Hyacinth one looks amaaaaazing.

Right? I saw it was all like "Gimme!" I've run out of nail sticks, otherwise I would have swatched it and included a photo. Instead I swatched it on the clear window of an envelope, it looks so good. I might do a mani with it + Fatal Attraction.

Oh, I should add that I emailed both girls who own the brands and they confirmed no animal testing/ingredients. Although, Femme Fatale will soon have one polish that contains carmine.

allularpunk, we have similar tiny nails, only I bite mine so they are even tinier! when i look at this thread i always vow not to bite my nails anymore. sigh.

Whee! I trekked to Saks (and it was a trek because it took me 4 bleeding hours to get home due to accidents on 95). I got Taboo; it's a beautiful glittery blue violet.

I also kind of dipped into summer savings and got two glosses (pink sauvage, a bubblegum pink with lilac glitter that feels very watery and smooth and lovely on, and ocean shimmer, a clear with blue almost holographic looking sparkles), and I went ahead and got the dark spot corrector roll on. A woman there (another customer) showed me her hands before and after and it was amazing. The spots from driving in the sun last year have really been bothering me. It looks like all plant ingredients, but I have to look up a few more before using it.

So, um, yeah. That's my big spring splurge. Retail therapy!

I can't find a swatch of pink sauvage, but it's really amazing. It's a total glitter bomb, but feels silky smooth and really hydrating. I think they updated the glossimer formula.

Now my penance will be working some extra sub shifts to make up for frivolous expenditures.

I did my nails in the bright red orange last night, so I haven't tried my new one yet. I hope the glitter shows up on the nail like it does in the bottle.

Has anyone used Floss Gloss? Their FAQs say they're cruelty free and do not contain any animal products

At least we save on nail polish? I keep mine super short because they look weird once they grow out, because of my uber short, square nail beds. Oh well, better for ceramics and piano playing.

With really short nails, you can really look great in a wider range of colors. Dark colors, especially, look best on short nails.

I also think oddball colors like yellow or lime green work best on short nails. I always cut mine down to my finger tips when I do a yellow or similar.

Slapper/Henley lasted about 3-4 days before it started chipping really badly. This a decent run, considering that I work in a big-box home improvement store.

After spending a full day with naked nails, I realized that I've got some staining going on, so I'll try spending the next week or two with gentler colors. Problem is, the only one I really have (other than whites and glitters) is Zoya Dove. All my other colors are pretty bright or dark. I may just make some of my own pastels with a bright color + white.

Ulta has a $3.50 off $10 purchase coupon, it's just a .png so you can print it as many times as you want, but it expires at the end of the month so think about how many times you'll go buy nail polish in the next week.

Finally got my nails did! I can't find a smallish pick, and I'm inside now, so maybe I'll take one later, but I picked OPI My Paprika is Hotter than Yours, and I'm liking it. I wear almost exclusively black and grey, so the orangey red really pops. I like several of the OPI Euro Centrale collection. The names are all terrible, in case there was any doubt.

I kept dismissing them and then I read about them being cf/vegan. I might email them just to double check. And then I'll probably wait to buy until I'm in the USA, I know Hey, Nice Nails! stocks them and I want to book in for a mani when I visit.

The peachy nails are Barry M Peach Melba, the white nail is Barry M Matt White, the blue is Sinful Colors Matte Savage, the black is Orly Liquid Vinyl.

So I went to Ulta yesterday with that coupon I posted above, and the ORLY BOGO is still going on, so if you got a $10 top/basecoat, you can get the free polish AND use the coupon and get both for about $8, including tax.

I also found some derma-e stuff on the clearance shelf for half off, I didn't even know they sold it! derma-e stuff can be pretty pricey, and it's all vegan so I encourage you guys to check your Ulta clearance sections (carefully, I barely spotted the box of moisturizer hiding behind some shampoo).

I tried this tutorial and it came out just ok. Less like little dots and more like...marbling? You guys are inspiring me to do more creative things with my nails! I need more tutorials!

Ugh, I spilled nail polish on our carpet. I have gotten most of it out, but still...ugh.
