Hello. I am going to splurge on a pair of boots this winter because every night I go home in my canvas shoes I seem to get very wet and cold feet. I don't know which to get, the vegan mens boot selection seems really limited, I can only find one website that even offers them at all. But, these two here Novocas brand ones seem really nice, though pricey. I wanted to spend less but like I said these were really all I found. OKAY: Leo or MiloI am not super stylish or anything but I'm trying to look nicer/less dorkish lately. So part of thinks the Milo is too hip. But then again, part of me thinks the Leo is too punk, which is a style I am not. What do you think? Edit to say: You can feel free to recommend another mens boot if you wish. Just so long as it will keep my toes dry.

I like them both; they seem super versatile and classic. I'm leaning slightly toward the milo though.

i was going to vote Leo as i thought the Milo didn't undo but they do and look great in the discerning brute picture. So i vote Milo! I also hate the weird markings on the sole of the Leo. I've put the pic of them undone here so people don't have to click through:

PS thanks for the link as they werent up for sale last time i checked and i want some black milo boots.
Also, i cant recommend other mens boots because as you said there are no options at all. Youve found the only 2 good ones in my opinion.

I was thinking the same thing about the sole actually, but then I thought, the one sole is kind of annoyingly fancy sure, but I wonder if that would better than the seemingly no tread that the milo has? I don't want to be that dork who slips and falls in front of a bunch of people at a bus stop... Maybe I am over thinking this.

Nah it's a really good question. Winter boots traditionally aren't leather/smooth soled as then they would have no grip. I'm not sure what the Milo are made of but they probably wont be grippy. However, you can get them topyed (sp?)/covered in a protective rubber that supplies grip. This saves the original sole and gives you some grip (and is pretty inexpensive). Most, if not all cobblers should be able to do this for you.
As you're in Portland I don't think you have to worry about deep snow so either of these boots should be fine for winter. I still say go with the Milo (as I will be doing soon)!

I initially thought Leo, but I think that is because I've been looking for a similar style boot. I am not punk, and I'm female. I think the Leo looks a little more unisex than the Milo. The Milo is a little more refined and would provide a few more outfit options.
