Hi PPK. I've recently become obsessed with Jamberry nail wraps -- so much so that I became a consultant earlier this week. The photo above is me wearing the "Off the Chain" wraps. The wraps are made of vegan ingredients, the company doesn't do animal testing and there are 300+ styles to choose from. (Note that there is a lotion set with a non-vegan ingredient -- beeswax). You can apply them at home with stuff you probably already own: nail scissors, a file and a heat source like a hair dryer.

I wanted to share the link to my new site. http://jamwithjams.jamberrynails.net/

I'm also doing a contest. The winner gets a free half sheet of wraps. The rules and disclaimers are on my blog, but basically all you need to do is request a product sample from me and you are entered. Here's the sample request link: http://tinyurl.com/m3h4jfm (U.S. peeps only.)

I forgot to mention that the products samples are free. (So there's no obligation to buy anything in order to enter the contest).

I LOVE jamberry. I just ordered a whole bunch of nailwraps so I don't need anymore at the moment - but if you love having pretty, durable, low maintenance nails you should look into Jamberry! I got a free sample from someone and experiencing it first hand sold me!

I got my sample, Jess! They're cute. I put them on last night. I'm not quite sure what I think yet. For one thing, my left thumbnail has a bunch of weird angles (I don't know how to describe it really) and it didn't apply very well. The right thumbnail is more normal and smooth and looks better. They're both a bit narrower than my thumbnails, which looks a little odd if you're close enough to notice it.

I have to keep my nails super short (musician problems) - so I dunno. I'm really interested to see how they hold up with all the work I do with my hands, because if they survive that, then, well, RESPECT! :-D Polish is done for on my fingernails so fast that I generally just skip them and stick with my toes.

The sample sizes are different then the real jam nails, so they come much wider if you actually order a set! I watched some youtube videos about application which really helped me get mine on smoothly. If you have those little puckers on the sides it is going to affect how long the jam can stay on your nail because liquids can get up under the jam then. If your nails are "curved" there are some special steps you can take to get the jams to fit your nails better - again Youtube is my friend!

I'll weigh in because I love Jamberry too (although I only like having them on my toenails). I was pretty skeptical and I generally try to avoid any MLMs, especially when it's friends involved, but I got a free pedi pack and it was actually awesome. I'm a swimmer and my whole life polish has never stayed on my nails nicely due to the chlorinated water. My wraps stayed on for a whole month! Love it.

I'm glad you got your sample butterbobbin. I have been paranoid that I was using inadequate postage and would wind up with a pile of samples returned to me. I've been wearing the wraps pretty much non-stop since December, so I've done a lot of trouble shooting on how to get the best application for the various finishes. (If you want to take a picture of your hand and post it, I can try to trouble shoot the weird angle issue for you.) It also sounds like the wrap is probably a little small for your thumb. Like annasrobbie said, the full sets come with 7 different sizes for hands and 2 for feet, so it's easier to fit the right wrap to the right finger.

Definitely let me know how well the wrap holds up. I get about 3 days out of regular nail polish and at least 10 from the wraps, but the only real beating my nails take is stinky diaper duty.

Here's my early Valentine's Day manicure. This is actually my Mom. (She's better at taking pictures of her own hands.) I used the same set of wraps and we did matching manicures because we're disgustingly cute like that. Image

My hand self-portrait skills are improving, I think. These are Marsala in Bloom wraps. I just wanted to do one last post to remind everyone about the drawing for a free half sheet of wraps. All you have to do to enter is try a free wrap sample. http://tinyurl.com/m3h4jfm

(I promise not to spam you if you request the sample. I do follow up once or twice to see if you need help applying the sample, but I only add people to my monthly email list if the make a purchase or request to be added).

The first one that I applied on my left (weird) thumb I took off after three days, because it wasn't on really well. The one on my right thumb was applied better and was still looking fairly decent a week later despite the endless round of dishwashing, cooking, and everything else that happens around here :-p But I took it off then because I needed to clip my nails.

So yeah, I wouldn't hesitate to get some for a special event, but definitely these are better for someone who isn't constantly needing to clip their nails like I do! :-)

Butterbobbin I actually clip my nails with them on (and I use my nail clipper to get it to the right length once applied)! If they look rough you just file the edge down a bit to smooth it out.

Thanks for sharing the results you had with your sample! (In case anyone was wondering, you can clip your nails with wraps on and then reseal the tips with heat and pressure. I usually just take mine off when it's time to clip, but the consultant I signed up with keeps her nails very short for work and gets 3 weeks or so of wear by doing the clip and reseal method).

It is very exclusive to read this thread. I really get impressed on reading this forum and also share some pictures related to nail art.
