I'm thinking of trying to cook with the alphabet. Cookbooks and recipes featuring a letter of the day a-la-sesame-street.

WOOO!! I missed the party last year because I found out about it in the middle of October. I'll be ready this year!

I think my theme will be "posting every day". That'll be enough to keep me occupied.

I should probably force Ryan to post at least once a week, too.

I'm excited to participate again! I hope to have a new site up before then. Not sure what I'm going to try - maybe desserts!

My boyfriend said my theme should be dinosaurs, but I don't really know how to make that happen except using my dinosaur cookie cutters for everything. So I think my theme is going to be finding 30 different ingredients I have never used before and making stuff with them. That way if I don't have lots of time I can just make something simple or if I have more time it can still be fancy. I'm considering making little slips of paper with the ingredients listed on them and choosing one at random each morning. I'm also thinking about doing some sort of once a week (probably weekend) "Chopped" style ingredient challenge where I draw a few random ingredients and have to make something with them...

I love this idea!!!

I'm so super thankful it is October instead of November! That was just brutal. I have to think of a theme...

I kinda want to post about going to typical stores (big boxes & chains) and write about what vegan stuff I find. I cannot do this daily but I want to try to do as many as I can!

Yes. I found last year so much more difficult to post daily than the year before. Of course, I wasn't working the year before, but November just seemed to have so much more going on. I'm hoping I can be a little more on the ball this year since it's in October.

Also, I'm totally making vegan stovies and skirlie.

I found an awesome book on the library today about Swedish women cookbook authors from a long time ago (18 and 19th century!) with their stories and recipes. I'm definitely gonna make something out of that for MoFo.

I've started a list of products from veganstore.com that I've never tried before, and also some from vegieworld.com. Lots of weird fake meaty things (Viana Veggie Cevapcici! Worthington Vegetable Skallops! Vegetarian Soybean Fluff!). Also planning to visit my local Asian market to pick up some veggies or condiments I've never used before, and hopefully an Indian grocery for some new kinds of lentils and whatnot. Don't want this thing to be all about the weird fake meat (the Skallops terrify me a little because they come in a can which just seems to bode bad things). I guess I'll need to find more than 30 things if I want to combine ingredients at random instead of just focusing on one per day.

Ha ha ha I LOVE IT!

I will have more this year, probably on Tuesdays. I'm doing a theme for each day of the week. I am working out those themes in the next couple of days.

I think it is important to remember to have fun. If you don't post it is no big deal. But Mofo should be enjoyed. Food! Prizes! Community!

Panda, I hope your plans to cook your way through Little House on the Prairie are still on. I bought the official cookbook in anticipation.

I checked it out from the library again and Little Panda on the Prairie will be my Thursday theme. I will fork me up some fried cornmeal mush.

Hey friends! Super duper extra long time no talk. I'm confused about Vegan Mofo 2011... mostly because there haven't been any updates on the blog since last year? Is there somewhere announcing that it's in October, or somewhere to register? Am I being oblivious as is sometimes the case?? Please help k thx bye. <3
