I was afraid I'd be unable to blog every day so I never signed up for mofo.

I signed up this year! My topic is chiles. There are hundreds of types of chiles and so many uses both in and out of the kitchen. I was inspired by a shot at a juice place called the medicine man. it saved my sinuses as I was battling this terrible cold. it's a 2 oz shot of chiles and spices that kicked my asparagus.

so that's what I'm mofoing about this year! every day I'll write about a different chile that I love and ways different people use it.

at the end of the month, for my birthday, (i turn 25 on halloween) we're having a halloween night of indulgence party. we're serving the most decadent and spicy foods. it'll be a great way to end our month of chiles.

This is my first year too, but I've definitely been reading since the first year! It's exciting to be able to participate for once. We have daily themes over at our blog, and I'm not going to lie, sharing the work with Panders will help me a great deal.

the shot was called the medicine man. according to the site it is: lemon · ginger · garlic · jalapeno · cilantro · beet · turmeric · oreganol · habanero

it tastes like insanely spicy pizza sauce? it could have been the most delicious 2 oz i've ever drank in my life. really nicely balanced flavor and over the top fiery burn. at the end of the shot, there were bits of habanero and spices in the bottom.

i'm so glad i'm not alone in my first mofo! i love how encouraging everyone is. it seems like we all just want to help each other blog more. i'm all for anything that will get me back to blogging without feeling stressed or blocked for ideas. i can't wait!

This is my first Vegan MoFo too! I love the chile idea, I'm a sucker for a good roasted serrano or poblano. I couldn't pick a topic, so mine is just general beginning vegan exploration, but I feel good just committing to cooking and blogging for a month.

I'm still on the fence about doing Vegan Mofo this year. It would be an awesome challenge, but also a huge commitment. It'd be my first mofo as well.

Hooray! My birthday is on Halloween too, AND I'm a huge chili fan. I'll definitely be looking out for your posts, especially that Halloween celebration!

I absolutely love chilies so I can't wait to see what you come up with! :) It is my first VeganMoFo, too! Especially exciting since I just started my Vegan blog a little over a month ago....it gives me the incentive to keep posting everyday and keep going with my blog!
