Yay. Exitement! But also oh, no!

(Sorry for the bisqueing. I just started to prepare and I have a motto planned that takes some time in advance. I guess September is too early for me. I was totally set for October.)

Ooh I've got a lot planned for September. hmmm maybe I can still fit in a theme. I have no kitty to take pictures with anymore! His owner moved out and took him with him. :(

You can do it, everyone!!!
Embrace the MoFo!!

The reasons for moving it to September are really good:
- more daylight for photos!
- new produce to feature and explore
- no more month-long halloween, thanksgiving, sweet potato & pumpkin bonanzas

The idea is that we could rotate the month each year, so that bloggers could always be diversifying holidays, produce, seasons... and making MoFo more fun and interesting in the long run!

Rotating the month each year sounds like a good idea, because MoFo in July would be totally different than in February. I should attempt something this year, seeing as I am currently unemployed with lots of time on my hands.

Yeah, that was my thought. It really isn't a big deal to have it every 11 months instead of every 12 months and I think we've flooded the internet with enough Halloween/Thanksgiving posts.

There are a couple of food 'holidays' in September, and the 1st is international bacon day - how perfect!

That is true! And I like the idea behind it. Personally I just think it would have been great to have known this a little bit earlier. It's totally my own fault though. Since I didn't check this page. Do you think you could also announce it early on the MoFo site next time? That way I would notice it as it would pop up in my feed. And maybe that is also useful for others who aren't on the PPK on a regular basis.

I *think* I am going to do a month of Food Nostalgia posts. I need a catchy name for it. I had this idea a long time ago - I want to do posts about foods/recipes/meals that remind me most of the people I love.

awesome! I'm glad you're doing that theme again - it is SO awesome and fun!

I had a more super exciting Big Project idea too, but after having my dad in the hospital, my heart is definitely more in the nostalgic food memories zone. I think it will be fun. Also, I think it will generate some cute doodles.

I'm excited that MoFo will be in September this year! When will signups begin?

I'm away for work for the first week of mofo so that'll be some uninspiring hotel room food posts! haha.

So many things are in season in September! I look forward to seeing what people do with the bounty from their gardens, CSAs, and farmers' markets. I am expecting and looking forward to a million and one tomato (and zucchini) recipes!

Yes! I love this idea so much!

September might be a bit challenging for me, but I'll do my best. I haven't missed one since 2008, and I'm not about to start now! I'm not sure yet, but I've been thinking about veganizations of old favorites from classic hippie vegetarian cookbooks like Laurel's KItchen, Moosewood, The Vegetarian Epicure, etc.

I have loved MoFo for the last few years but I really don't think I can do it this year. September is hell on earth as it is for people working in education, I am lucky to even eat most nights let alone blog it too. After my gargantuan effort last year I don't want to do it in half measures, so I think I'm out, unfortunately. (For anyone who remembers, I think I still have most of the ingredients untouched and a shiitake load of others!).

I just started blogging again too, so I really need to come up with a theme! Maybe I'll continue on with Eastern European classics, since I bombed out early the year I did that before and didn't make a lot of the stuff I wanted to.

That sounds awesome. I love that sort of food; lots of dill, mushrooms, noodles, and paprika!

I'm so excited about this. It'll be my first MoFo as a vegan (as opposed to an eater of tasty things, some of which happen to be vegan).

I'd like to give it a go, but I'm not going to get back home until 10 September. Blogging about being vegan away from home would be interesting, but maybe a little challenging?

Also, I've never done it before, so are there any good guides, hints, tips or rules I should know about before making a decision?

Any suggestions or thoughts appreciated!

Well, I read the website and FAQs, and I've decided to go for it!

Any hints/tips or links to any outstanding MoFo blog(post)s would still be gratefully received though.

I would say read through the mofo blog last year, we do round-ups every day and try to link to just about everybody so it's a good starting place. And randommofo is fun too.
