I am going to try to think of any Harry Potter recipes that I haven't made yet and maybe kick dumbledores vegan army back into gear, but maybe only once or twice a week? that's ok, right?

Yes please! There was a part in the book where they talked about eating steak and kidney pie, so I veganized it and was going to send the recipe your way, but there hadn't been a new post in a while, so I thought it was over. And now I don't have the recipe anymore! But I remember that the steak part was soy curls and the kidney part was kidney beans. It was pretty good actually.

I'm in for another year! I was having trouble deciding on a theme but seeing as my kitchen is being demolished the end of September, I'm going to do a month of freezer meals so that I don't starve to death in October. If anyone is up for doing a guest post let me know!

Aaaaannnd I lied, I'm actually not going to be doing it this year. I have too much going on, preparing for the concert my friends and I are launching in late September and sooo.... that's that. :-( I'm going to have fun checking out all your blogs though!

I'm in; this will be my - GASP - seventh MoFo! Not sure of my theme yet, but I'm thinking about veganizing a historical cookbook. I did WWII austerity Britain a couple years ago, and I really liked that one because it was sort of a research project (with food). My blog is linked below.

That would be amazing. I find food history so fascinating! When I was younger a friends mum worked as a cook in some CBBC Victorian "reality" show which was cool. I've always wondered about what I'd eat if I wandered into a time travel machine and got stuck in the past!

I have a few ideas, and I can't decide:

Grillin Like a Villain: a whole month of grilling
30 Years of Summers: in which I memorialize summers from the age of 10-40 (last year), all through food memories
Farmers Market Finds: every day, a new food from the farmers market.

Hm. I still have a few weeks to brainstorm!

I looove this. Noshtalgia was one of my favorite MoFo themes ever.

I love stuff like that, too. The question is how far back I want to go; I'm tempted to just dive into something like The English Huswife: Containing the inward and outward Vertues which ought to be in a Compleat Woman (1615), which offers delightful-sounding recipes like "Puddings of a Calves Mugget." We'll see!

I love the food memories idea; I think it would be fun to write, and I'm sure people would enjoy reading it.

I signed up! So what if I haven't blogged in almost a year? I'll have my evenings free starting in a couple of weeks, and blogging is one of the things I've missed the most. No real theme, just my usual ramblings. Probably a little bit on meal planning, what types of foods work awesome as leftovers, some stuff about what foods I take to omni get togethers, and then what I ate in Mexico. Random, as always!

Link in the sig.

I would love to participate in the actual blogging part this year, but like usual I am swamped with work stuff. Two new preps I'm teaching this year have me nervous! My idea was to do a month of no waste...meaning, that I try to rework leftovers into new meals. I was always fascinated by that lady's show on the Food Network where she cooked things and used them for multiple meals. Most of the time it was weird chicken breasts and grains, but she also did a lot of veggie sides that worked together.

Today I'm going to turn some ratatouille into a pasta sauce and see how it turns out. I'll snap some pictures and maybe post them for mofo, but I'm not sure.

If anyone wants to steal this theme, though, be my guest! I've been itching for a vegan cookbook like this and more ideas about how to efficiently use everything in my pantry/fridge.

After falling short last year (I only posted about 15 times), I'm giving it a try again this year. I'm tying my theme in with Hunger Awareness Month and will be focusing on healthy(ish) eating on a budget and minimizing food waste. It's not the most creative theme, but my narrow theme(s) last year made it harder to post daily.

I'll be blogging at: http://sunflowerkitchen.wordpress.com

Really excited to see what everyone else posts this year!

After some consideration, and in honor of the centenary of WWI, I think I'm going to devote this year's MoFo to recipes from cookbooks published between 1914-1918. I did the WWII austerity thing two years ago, and learned so much in the process, that I feel like this is an appropriate follow-up project, particularly since I'm feeling the weight of history right now with my son starting college, and missing my own mother (who was raised by her WWI vet grandfather). So pack up your appetites in your old kit bags, and we'll see what happens!

I signed Dumbledores Vegan Army up!
The last time I posted there was July 2011, but since Harry Potter is forever, it's definitely time to start this up again.

Some really exciting themes in this thread!

I'm in this year, it will be my second time around. I didn't pre plan last time and really struggled to keep up, so I'm currently researching/planning my theme. Hoping I get time to read other blogs this time! My blog is www.hastalavegan.com

I don't have time for mofo, which is why I decided to jump on board anyway for the first time in a couple of years. The theme will be crafting loom band jewellery with food. I mean it's not, but that would be fun.

Me Me Me! On New Orleans in Green. I always post about vegan stuff in New Orleans; for VeganMoFo I'm doing a sort of culinary tour of Nola's food culture, as seen through vegan eyes. I think it will be cool. :D
