disneyfav4ever wrote: I started a blog. I only food out about November food month a few days ago, and decided to try to eat vegan the whole month then. I haven't eaten red meat or poultry for four months, but the way I see it, continuing to eat eggs and dairy is just as bad for the animals welfare as eating meat is, so I've got to kick it out of my diet. I think my blog will help me keep on track. Great idea! I think it will be very helpful, since you will write about it and also, you will get a lot of inspiration from other blogs! Where will you be blogging from?

I'm doing a cookbook challenge by myself, similar to the one a bunch of us did last year. I'm picking a different cookbook each week (one that I have used less often) and will be trying 3-4 new recipes from each.

I'm doing a right-old mixed bag:
Week 1: America write-up, seeing as I got back from our East Coast Tour this morning
Week 2: Converting my mum's treasured biscuit recipes that hold a firm place in my childhood
Week 3: Cooking through Caribbean Vegan, that arrived on my doorstep whilst I was away
Week 4: We'll get to that problem later. It was going to be vegan motorbiking related, but I spent too much money on that. Maybe my boyfriend's top 7 or something. Or breads.

I signed up last minute and my blog is barely a day old so I'm a bit nervous haha, but I'm sure it'll be fine. No fancy theme for me, just a bit of this and that. I'd love to finally try out some ingredients I haven't worked with yet, so that will probably happen. Maybe some original recipes, veganized childhood favourites and definitely some reviews (recipes, vegan skin care & make up products). Food-wise I'd like to focus on German and Indonesian dishes, but we'll see.
Happy Vegan MoFo everyone!

I'm winging it (and my tumblr is called 'a friend to chickens' so that just made me crack up because I am DUMB REAL DUMB). I haven't been vegan for long and I'm not great in the kitchen so I'm thinking that should make for some funny posts. I think I'm going to talk about the challenges of being vegan in a small town and maybe also photograph apple picking or something similar. Also I am determined to make some fudge.

well, I was not sure in what direction I was going to go in with my brandy-new blog, THEN I got laid off today. SO, I guess it is going to be about cheap eats and I'll have LOTS of time to work on it.

Hurrah! Blog is up. The first week is going to be a bit off the cuff. I think I'm going to have weekly themes (Indian, Latin American, childhood favorites, poor grad student food, specific cookbooks—you can bet your asparagus there's going to be YRR and V-con weeks) with some daily categories (kale, quinoa, Fruity Fridays, AmaranThursdays, etc.) sprinkled throughout. I'm apprehensive, but excited. http://vasterthanempires.wordpress.com/

I think it will be OK, I've seen it coming for a while now and I am in school full time so there will hopefully be much, much better things in my future.

I'm trying to put up a lot of food porn and recipes. I start to do a lot of baking around this time, so I'm sure my blog posts will cover a lot of baked goods and treats. I also will have my Thanksgiving dinner to blog. And with my daughter's 4th birthday party this month, I am looking forward to blogging about having a vegan birthday party!
I've also told my husband that since its Vegan MoFo, he should take me to Great Sage for dinner (he normally grumbles because its a 40 minute drive...).

Great Sage is so worth it. I was thinking of trying to go to one of the live entertainment nights this month in honor of MoFo.

Mine is definitely slice of life, as evidenced by yesterday.
I had planned a certain dish for supper but got home later than usual and went looking for something in the fridge freezer, ended up cleaning out the freezer and cooking what I found in it and the fridge. My two biggest problems are the two reluctant young people I need to feed everyday.

I'm doing a Southeast Asian regional theme, with lots of fusion recipes and posts on ingredients. I'm sure I'll throw other stuff in there too, but I just got back from a holiday there so I'm all sorts of pumped up with ideas!

I'm doing day-of-the-week themes, like Wordless Wednesday and Sunday spice adventure.
(not all of them are alliterative)

Yay my first Mofo! I don't know if I will stay with the theme for every post, but I generally keep a tight food budget and only shop about twice a month so I know I will be addressing that for anyone who is interested! http://mmmmmmmmvegan.blogspot.com/
