Sunday, May 29th - Me, you, dinner?

So I'm going to NYC to hang out with Friday and other lovely ppkers. Friday and I will spend the day in Manhattan and I'd love to see other ppkers! Haven't picked a place yet and open to suggestions. I think last time I came, we went to Angelica Kitchen? (I think) Which was awesome but I'm up for other awesome options as well.

ack, so many dining opportunities in the near future! i'll check my schedule and see if i've got anything i need to do that weekend.

Angelica Kitchen is fine with me, as is Candle. i'm interested in trying some Korean-style places in midtown, particularly Franchia Teahouse. heck, i've got a whole list of places to try before i move out of the country this summer. what criteria do you have?

I want to hang out. I am 99% sure that day works for me. I'd be down to go to Angelica. I also really like Lan and Pukk. Peace Food on the upper west side is good, too. What kind of food are you in the mood for linanil?

ETK, Franchia is really good, but a bit pricey for my tastes, especially when dining with a large group, so personally I'd prefer not to go there, but if we do end up going there I'd still go and get an appetizer! Candle is more expensive than Franchia. You should definitely go to both of those places before you move, but maybe not for a meet-up?

oh, i don't want to suggest anywhere that's going to be a budget buster. i don't recall Candle Cafe being that expensive - not cheap, but around the price range of Angelica, if my memory serves me.

i've never been to Pukk or Lan, either. they sound like great places to have a meetup.

Count me in! The pukk menu looks amazing, although I'm up for any of the places mentioned.

Yay! People! I was worried that there are so many NYC visitors, you guys would be tired of hanging out :)

I like Thai but I also liked the variety at Angelica and they accommodated us pretty well last time. I'll have to consider both.

yeah, candle cafe is not as expensive as candle 79, but angelica is definitely cheaper than either of them. angelica also has a lot of variation in price. their specials are $16-$18, but you can get other meals for $9-$12

also Lan is Vietnamese, and in my opinion they have the best seitan ever! although their hours are a little wonky, so there's a chance they wouldn't be open on a sunday.

Also, I believe Lan is not open on Monday. I attempted to dine there my last day in NYC and they were closed and I was heartbroken because I didn't get a baguette. I am still heartbroken.

if we decided to go to Lan and it was closed it's only 2 blocks from Pukk and only a few more blocks to Angelica.

Woo!!! ok Lan Cafe sounds good with potential backups! Yay! I found something that says they are open Sunday 3pm to 10pm so seems doable? We'll have to figure out time.
