Well, they all do! What in particular are you looking for? If you want vegan cheese, my fave is Pizza Plus in Brooklyn.

Yes, vegan cheese is good. The manfriend is looking for the big floppy slices of vegan New York style pizza.

I really like Pukk, which is vegetarian thai. They have a fantastic cheap lunch special.

Awesome! I just called them and it sounds like exactly what we're looking for. A million times thanks! We've never been to NYC, but we're both super excited.

Vinnie's is pretty good. But does anyone know of anything even floppier? Doesn't matter if they have vegan cheese as I actually prefer pizza without it. I still need to try Pizza Plus... I never make it there in time to get it by the slice and I can't ever justify almost $30 for a whole pie.
I've heard good things about Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint, they have a brick oven!

I've seriously sworn off foodswings, I know I'll get burnt at the stake for even saying this on here....it's gross. I thought it was still worth it for the mac and cheese with daiya, but we got that last week and it tasted like nothing more than macaroni and unsalted butter...what happened?

fork yeah, Vinnie's!!

My friend's boyfriend just started working there, so now we have another reason to go there. That Dharma initiative banner is pretty snazzy, too.

I'm super forking excited for this. I haven't had a big floppy slice of (faux) cheese pizza ever in the 5+ years I've been vegan. So pumped. I called the place beforehand. I never expect to reach someone that I don't understand quite well, but the guy had a New York accent up and down. I've never even heard a real NY accent, just the contrived ones on TV. It made me even more excited that I'm going to be there next week!
Does anyone know of any places to get vegan donuts (good ones) in NYC? I heard the Cinnamon Snail in Hoboken might be my only bet.

If you're here on a Tuesday (or Wednesday), hit up Atlas Cafe on 2nd Ave. They get doughnuts delivered from Vegan Treats every Tuesday (and they're usually still there and fresh on Wednesday).

I don't know if they have it all the time, but Terri does apple cider doughnuts, but they're kind of small. And baked. They're not the big, fried monstrosities we all really want in life.

I bet those are the same vegan donuts that are shipped to Vinnie's too. Are they huge, and do they have that unbelievably delicious boston cream pie one? Oh man... I need to get paid so I can eat food from places other than my kitchen.

Yup! I'm partial to the cookies and cream, though. Oreo bits + doughnut = DOOM.

I didn't know Vinnie's gets them too. Do you know when?

I still haven't been to Champs! But I'll be there next Saturday for Melisser and AutumVegan's book thing. Oh yes. I'm bringing a very big bag.

I think around Tuesday as well. I think they come from Pennsylvania, but I could be completely wrong. They usually put a notice on their sandwich board outside when they arrive.

Oh, I've consumed the cookies & cream one. There's no argument from me. That oreo brownie is pretty slammin' too.

There are also handsome gents with tattoos working there while listening to punk or mash-ups, if you're into that sort of thing. If you see a guy named Anthony working there, tell him you talked to Danielle on the internets who said to tip him millionz upon millionz of dollars!

Yep, Vinnie's gets donuts in on Tuesday. My favorite Vegan Treats donut is the Boston cream. So good.

Oh man. Sounds like I'm going to love this place. I will have Manfriend with, but that never stops me from looking. Ha!

Vinnie's is the jam, buttttt then I moved to Minneapolis last month and tried a FANTASTIC VEGAN PIZZA with this amazing nut-tofu sheeze (Pizza Luce) and unfortunately Vinnie's can't compare (sorry... I still have the love and will be moving back in a few months).

However, if I had my NY Vegan Dream Day....

I would start out at Boneshakers and get a Sag sandwich ("egg" and "sausage" on a roll) with some black coffee...
Then I would take the L train over and eat lunch at Curly's and get their fantastically large salad... the name of it escapes me.
Dinner would be just a short walk away at PURE FOOD AND WINE (provided I had enough money, but hey it's a dream)...
and as a late night stop I would share a shake at Foodswings (back in bk) with my favorite people.

have a great time in nyc!!
