I love the options at The Islands on Washington Ave in Brooklyn. Stewed Peas, which are beans in a thick gravy with these yummy finger dumplings. And Curry Vegetables and tofu. Also, amazing roti and plantains. I still weep that Veggie Castle is gone, I haven't tried the Queens locale. What are your faves?

I love Strictly Roots in Harlem. Last time I was there I had amazing bbq seitan, an ackee dish, fried plaintains, and a tamarind smoothie. It was all amazing.

There are a few veggie carib places close to me in Flatbush on Church Ave but I'm blanking on the names. They are also good though nothing tastes as fresh to me as the food i get from Strictly Roots.

I miss veggie castle too. Where is the one in Queens?

I really need to go to strictly roots! it's really not that far from school. it sounds amazing. I probably haven't had any since veggie castle closed.

I think the Columbia veg society (unofficial, we're actually CSAP) will be going to dinner at Strictly Roots sometime in the near future. I'll keep you posted in case you'd like to join us!
