And I went, and the doughnuts made my brain explode, and my mom came down from Maine to have them for her birthday, and they completely and totally made her birthday the happiest day on Earth, and then one of the owners came out and talked to her, and we found out he was from Maine, and then he called his parents to tell them other vegan people exist in Maine, and it was a wonderful morning.
Please go. There's a "Mercy for Animals" doughnut that has an almond dough base with blueberry frosting. And traditional glazed, chocolate, pumpkin spice, cinnamon and sugar, chocolate cake doughnut w/peppermint icing (limited engagement), PB&J, coconut... aah!! We walked out of there on a sugar and happiness high.

Seriously, the sweetest people (no pun intended) ever. You can tell they really put their hearts into it, and their hard work has more than paid off. I may try to waltz by on the 24th if they're open, just to bring the deliciousness to my boyfriend's family over the holidays.

we stopped by on Sat morning for a treat before heading to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Got a few flavors - Egg Nog, raspberry, vanilla and chocolate/peanut, and split em between us and our toddler (man she was PSYCHED haha). My boyfriend was disappointed they didn't have chocolate (as in those chocolate cake-type doughnuts) except for one with mint, but otherwise wow these were amazing treats. I'm really excited this place exists and business seems to be going great!

I went here today and met Christopher. He's totally awesome, I must say! I tried the coconut and raspberry frosted doughnuts which were amazing without being cloyingly sweet which I loved. Will definitely be returning soon! :)

I had my first Dun-Well Doughnuts today at their beautiful location. Wow. I had an Elvis (PB&banana) and a Chocolate-Pretzel. I wish I had gotten a filled one, too! And I wish they had some of the rose or lavender flavors out because I totally love foods that smell like perfume. Ah, next time. Seriously can't wait to go back! Bravo, Dun-Well!

The only thing I dislike is that I can't find a phone number for their storefront anywhere. My boyfriend's brother was in town and we decided to head over around mid-afternoon a couple of weekends ago, but we were hesitant to venture out without knowing whether or not they'd sold out. But then we decided to just take our chances and go anyway. Hilariously, the last doughnut was sold to the person DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US and we were really bummed. But one of the owners, Christopher, was amazing and called Champs (which is about a 15-minute walk from Dun-Well). They had 4 doughnuts left, so he had them put on hold for us.
So... even though we were disappointed when we first walked in, Christopher saved the day. I do really hope they get a number set up soon, though.

Dun-Well rocks my socks! I had never heard of it before, then last weekend my partner and I were doing laundry (loads and loads and loads of it), we didn't want to wait in the laundromat so we crossed the street to what we thought was a coffee shop. We sipped coffee and stared longingly at the donuts for a good 20 minutes before we realized that EVERYTHING in the shop is vegan! Upon said realization (and confirmation with the very nice guy behind the counter who I think may be the owner) we perked up, smiled widely and ordered a half dozen to stay! I can't wait to go back in warmer months to try the ice cream too!!!

Oh, man. I wish I saw this thread last month. I was in NYC and this would have been great! I'm going back in March to look at a University I was accepted to, so I'm definitely going to beg my parents to stop by there.

Yeah, they're primarily yeast. Works for me, because yeast is what I've been missing for aaaaaages. When I spoke to one of the owners, he said he doesn't like cake doughnuts because he doesn't feel like they're real doughnuts. But they do make both cake and yeast!

Cake donuts are lame..when I went to voodoo donuts in portland I was in yeast vegan donut heaven. Nice to have something closer!
