yes. but then so is all of New York. And I think the USA is probably also kind of different now too. I'm not trying to be snarky, I really think about these things. I moved to the East Village in '99 and what brought me here is dying. But I can't think of another place that would be better or wouldn't also probably change for the worse in a short time. Now I'm getting off topic slightly though.

I was in Lan Cafe and asked and she said "Yes the end of next month" The last two times I was there the owner was not. I did not ask if he had health problems or worse as I think the woman in there is his wife.

So sad about Lan, I looked for it when I was there recently though I didn't have the address noted I thought I was in the right place and it may have gone. Things have changed even since I was there this time last year.
