Anyone here a member of the
Greene Hill Food Co-op in Brooklyn? This co-op is 100% member-owned and -operated, so membership is mandatory ($175 for each adult in your household) and every member is required to work 2 hours every 4 weeks. It's still a small operation (it's only open two days a week!) but it's growing. And the more people who join, the more robust it will become!

I just worked my first shift ("Receiving") this morning (8-10AM). It was surprisingly fun! I stocked/arranged the produce, updated the price tags, and cleaned up. Then it was time to shop! Most of the produce is local (from a farm in Lancaster, PA) and organic. And all of it is delicious :)
