Yeah! I like the whoopie pies at Vinnie's. They have fried, yeasty quality, and are awesome, but I haven't seen any donut donuts. Cake donuts, but not DOOOOOOOONUTS.
Sometimes a kid just needs a donut.

Cake donuts ARE doooooooonuts..who wants a donut that loses 50-75% of its volume when you bite into it? Anyway, I keep expecting champs to have the yeasty kind but I've never seen them. Maybe if you ask nicely...

And really, I mean cake donuts are KIND OF donuts... but they're not DOUGH. They're batter. I'm not a snob about it or anything, but when I crave a donut, I mean fried and yeasty. Not cake in the shape of a donut. Wait. Maybe I AM a snob about it. I'M SORRY!

Sometimes a kid just needs a donut. ok, but they DO have yeasted donuts! vegan treats makes yeasted donuts and delivers them on tuesdays to various places around the city. ask them next time you're there. they usually sell out fast.

I recommend the Oreo one (or is it called Cookies and Cream?). Whatever the hell they call it, it's good.

Had a Boston Cream Pie at Vinnie's last night. I've had them before. Gooood. But yeah. I'll have to check out Champs for a real deal donut donut. Like, Krispy Kreme style.
When I was living in San Francisco, I got a dozen donuts from jordanpattern, and they were CRAMAZING.

uh oh. If champs has yeasted donuts on Sat when we go there for the book signing, it won't be a pretty sight. I'll go nuts. I apologize for the poor first impression I'll be making with those of you whom I've never met.

From Penn Station, take the A, C, E, 2, or 3 (or Q even) to 14th St. Least amount of walking around underground will be if you take the A, C, or E. Transfer to the L (toward Rockaway Pkwy.) Get off at the Bedford Ave. stop and walk toward the Bedford Ave. exit in the station. When you get outside, turn right and walk two blocks. You'll see a sign that says PIZZA on the other side of Bedford. Go in. Order a slice of vegan chicken broccoli teriyaki, a slice of vegan mac attack, some garlic knots, and a delicious treat. Wait. When your food is ready, go up and pay, and take the food back to your table. Stuff your face. Go lie down in the park.

Maybe we don't have the same definition of donuts, but these things are definitely called donuts. At some point they had donuts that looked like this

But it's better if you go to Vinnies, they have pizza and hot dudes to make it for you. (Ps bbq chicken is better than teriyaki chicken!)
