Vegan Shop-Up is monthly now! And it's on thePPK100, so you gotta check it out if you haven't before. The next one is on March 9th and I am super excited. Last month, I trekked through the snow to get Dunwell donuts and get to the shop-up! It was pretty awesome and, living in Queens, I never realized how dangerously close they are to each other. It's gonna be great and Treeline Cheese, another PPK100er is going to be there. I tasted their stuff last month, but couldn't buy it 'cause I was going out of town the next day. This time I'm definitely getting a wheel.

We have to be on a plane to Europe at 4:30 that day, but I'll see if I can stop by for some preflight snacks.

Cooool! Do you have an idea of what time? I usually try to go at the beginning when the crowds are slightly better. Have we met before, acr?

i haven't talked to my friend about times, but she's usually pretty flexible. i think she'll be fine with heading over early, before any of the really good stuff is taken.

we might have met at the haiti bake sale, but i can't remember for sure; i met so many people that day. that would have been the only time, though.

i'm out of town this weekend but next pop-up i would like to meet some ppkers!

so, we're planning on trying to get there as close to noon as possible, because i want that treeline cheese like whoa, and i think the last time it sold out sort of early. i need to stop looking at the vendor pages, because i'm already getting overwhelmed!

I'm not going to make it, but there's going to be a yarn vendor there I'm really curious about. Can someone please check it out and report back? Most of what's on their website isn't vegan, and what is is either regular synthetic or inorganic plant fibers, so I wonder if they have more of a selection they just haven't gotten to posting. Thanks!

i think i'll recognize you. i'll just harass all the redheads. i don't have any pictures of me where i'm not making a weird face that aren't at least 15 years old. i'm tallish and i have dark hair and a green scarf and a lot of earrings. these things are not helpful.

I met acr! You do have a lot of earrings! Your friend looked super familiar to me, maybe she looks like someone famous?

the yarn booth didn't show up!

I got two kind of treeline cheese - the herb and garlic spreadable one and the smokey hard cheese. I bought some grapes and crackers on the way home to have a little party. Now that these are every month, I probably won't buy much stuff each time. I always go because Sarah, who runs them is my friend from high school and I want to support her stuff! So, it's fun, but I will definitely pace myself. Like, next time, I probably won't get a smores cinnamon roll, even though it's freaking delicious. The cheese was sold out by about 2:30! daaaang!

I went a little shopping crazy this time because I got a few things for a package swap too! TGF tax returns!

i think she looks like donna from that '70s show. there's someone else she's mentioned being compared to, but i can't think of who right now. we agree that you are awesome. :)

we bought all the things. i was a little giddy; hopefully i'll be able to control myself more in the future. but i had such a good day! i just got home and unloaded my loot, and i keep gazing at it all spread out on the counter and hugging myself. i got one hard and one soft treeline cheese, some cake-bite things, a rosemary-lime soap that i can't stop smelling, coffee kombucha that i'm really excited to try, a raspberry cheese danish and a spinach pie from cinnamon snail (OMG SPINACH PIE, i want to eat it forever), and a cheesesteak from monks meats. and then we walked over to dun-well and bought a half-dozen donuts each. and i got kisses from an enormous, adorable boston terrier. and it was the warmest, sunniest, most beautiful early spring day ever. i'm in a total vegan bliss coma.
