Has anyone attended the Veg Food Fest before? http://nycvegfoodfest.com/
I would like to check this out but the $30 ticket price is making me pause. Is it even worth it?

Here's a thing for 50% off: http://local.amazon.com/brooklyn/B00HRY ... 2469390_fd

I've been every year because Sea Shepherd always has a table. There's a good crowd and we tend to do good business, but I can't really say much about the talks because I'm behind a table all day. I can say there are far better lunch options than we get at dive shows and comic con :P

i went to the first one (2011, i think?). it was a good time, with lots of good vendors & tables, but very crowded. and holy smokes, the line to get in was RIDICULOUS - it snaked around the block and took no less than half an hour. if you decide to go, try to get there early!

Thanks SSD for the link!

Emperor - for some reason I remember hearing the line was an issue last year as well? I'm hoping it's sorted out this year.

it seems like one of those things that could be best dealt with by holding the event at a larger venue. kind of disappointing they haven't done that, especially after they had such an amazing turnout the first year.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The lines have gotten better, but still aren't great. I think they looked into larger spaces and they were cost prohibitive.

They did VIP tickets last year, and I heard those were better. I have a toddler and it would be a nightmare with her, but otherwise I'd totally love to go.

I just bought a ticket for Sunday. I've never been before so not sure what to expect. If any other PPKers are going, wanna have an early brunch meetup beforehand?

I got a ticket for Sunday too, so I'll definitely see you there, dcf! and I'd say maybe for brunch. If I stay with a friend in Brooklyn the night before I could do brunch, but if I'm coming in from Long Island, it'll be sooooo early that I would have to get up to do brunch first.

I'll be at the Sea Shepherd table on Sunday, the most depressing table of the festival! Be sure to stop by!

I will probably have to get there a bit before the doors open, so brunch would need to be pretty early.

Just received this email:

Just noticed the NYC Veg*n Food Fest deal is still going. As there will be NO VIP tickets this year, this may be THE opportunity to enjoy buying discount tickets. (IMO going at 4:30 pm isn't the best plan for crowd size.)
I'm pretty excited this year's fest will include tacos from a visiting SoCal vegan chef, fried wonders from one of NYC's most decorated vegan chefs, and more surprises I've yet to get definitive details on just yet. (Lookin' at you Harmony & Brooklyn Rose especially!)
