Our Hen House just did a great piece on animal activist Janelle Soto's journey to open her Killer Vegan Deli and Diner!

http://www.ourhenhouse.org/2013/05/the- ... ler-vegan/

Its in Union, NJ, just a quick bus or train ride out. As the space is getting set up, they are running an all you can eat breakfast out of Lalibela in South Orange - all you can eat biscuits, gravy, waffles, pancakes and scrambles amongst other things for $25 and you're supporting a great vegan business!

Show them some FB love too :) https://www.facebook.com/KillerVegan?fref=ts

Why is all the good vegan breakfast in NJ? I mentioned this to my boyfriend, whose favorite place to hit up on the way pretty much anywhere (or at least he justifies going out of the way for it) is Rutherford Pancake House, and now I'll have to try here!

Just tried this on a trip to NJ this past weekend - the brunch was DELICIOUS. Highly recommended. Especially the biscuits and gravy!

Holy crepe! I was so excited to learn of this place but their facebook looks inactive since October. No more vegan brunching in NJ?

The brunches have ended and an opening date was suppose to be released and never was. I miss the brunches. The biscuits and gravy were so good! I really hope they open soon.

We have been driving by their storefront for like three years and have kind of lost all hope. If they really open my faith in the universe will be restored.

They do still have their cakes at Lalibela, at least the last time I went there. I could eat an embarrassing amount of the chocolate peanut butter cake. The vegan options at Lalibela are great, and the owners are some of the friendliest people you'll meet, just gotta remember they are closed on Sundays.

Yeah, I'm hoping if I use that one enough, they have to make it a real thing.

Although, it is so backward, since obviously NJ is the center of the universe. NYC really just has boroughs of NNJ.

I mean, really, we should just move the NYC threads into a New Jersey subforum. :)
