I tried to go yesterday and saw closed notices on the door with unspecified health violations.

I just googled it now and found this old article - sounds like they have a history of mice and cockroaches. Yuck! I thought the place was yummy the 1 time I went, but even if they reopen I don't think I could go back after reading this.

I would still go on Tuesdays when the Vegan Treats delivery comes in.

Ugh this one I'm not upset about because the owners (I think they are the owners, the swarthy men?) are SO FING RUDE.

We only ate there once, and neither of us liked our sandwiches. The fake cheese was cold and unmelted.

I had gone there for treats only. I wonder about the Little Atlas version off Broadway? That is a good option for a vegan snack while traipsing around the shopping district with out-of-towners.

YES so sad! My boyfriend and were in the area a couple weeks ago and hyped ourselves up about getting a kale salad and a peanut butter brownie (you know, a balanced meal) and were so sad to find it closed. Bummer.

It seems like BAD Burger is constantly my default in that area now, even though they've changed their menu a bunch.

I've never had anything but bad experiences at BAD. Once they gave a me a bacon cheeseburger with uncooked smart bacon. So gross. I was always sad because they were around the corner from me.

Little Atlas does seem to be open, hopefully they don't have the same issues. I have some bad food at BAD. Rarely anything better than average. A shame because it would otherwise be ideal for meeting up with non-veggies, but I don't want to be responsible for taking them to such a lackluster place. I guess at 2am one could do worse.

I'm gutted, I'll be in NYC in a couple of weeks and always stock up on a ton of cake to take home. I'm only there once or twice a year but the owner is always so sweet, he remembers me and gives me discounts and freebies.
Where else can we get a good selection of vegan treats cakes if they don't reopen by Easter? I need a good range.

Anyone know if they remain closed?
