Does anyone have any hidden gems for brunch with omnis in manhattan or north brooklyn or ridgewood? My mom is in town and I'm trying to think of a good place to go with her and my husband and brothers where they can all get whatever they want but then there is maybe like one vegan option on the menu I can have (plus soy milk for my coffee.) My old standby always used to be Brooklyn Label in Greenpoint for times like this because they had a potato/mushroom hash I liked, but now they've closed (and before that it was the brunch at Papcitos in Greenpoint but they closed as well. sigh.). Basically I only ever go to champs for brunch and then when it's time to go with people who really want eggs and bacon I have no idea where to go with them.

EDT I think I half remember that gothamist did some kind of poor list a while ago that talked about this very thing, and there was a place in Bushwick that has vegan pancakes? hmm

Follow up post, we went to cafe ghia in bushwick. They had a vegan scramble that was kind of meh, but serviceable. There were 2 or 3 other things on the menu that had notes that they could be veganized upon request and I think if I went back I'd try one of those. My biggest complaint was that the tofu in my scramble didn't seem as though it had been cooked much before being served, but the other components were fine. Everyone else seemed to be way into their egg and meat brunches though. Sigh. Better than nothing though, I guess.

yeah not huge on the scramble there.

now theres a falafel place in bushwick open at 11 (probably not ideal if you want breakfast-y foods)

the rookery has vegan french toast but i haven't tried it.

i usually go to cubana sociale although its a bit pricier now or caracas, both in wburg.

theres bunna, too, if you're with adventurous eaters. my omni friends still enjoy.

I wanted to throw Taco Chulo into the mix. It's vegan-friendly with stuff on the (regular) menu that carries over to the brunch, with $3 (small, but nice) mimosas, vegan sausage, black beans, tofu sour cream, regular fillings, hot salsas, spinach, potatoes and best of all, I've been twice at different times and it's been pretty dang open for seating options.

Not scrambled tofu, but jules and I were happy with our large breakfast-time taco plates while my sis and her dp had a lot of meat and cheese and eggs to make them content.

Again, no line!
