Both my aunt and I are baking. Ethan is taking our goodies with him since I can't make it and he's an okay neighbor. Please don't let Ethan leave without buying me a cookie dough brownie. Thanks.

Damn I don't know what to make. Or if I can make anything. I ended up taking in three emergency foster cats this weekend and my apartment looks like a tornado hit.Cooking is a challenge and EVERYTHING ends up with cat hair in it. And I have to go to Petco for an adoption event and I'm really hoping one of the cats will get adopted. Of course the adoption event hours are also 12:30-5:30.

As long as we list cat hair as an allergen, like peanuts, it should be fine. Good luck with the adoption event! Hope you can stop by for a little while!

I might attempt to make mini-donuts since we have a donut pan I've never used and it seems like cookies and cupcakes are pretty much covered. I will add to the doc tomorrow when I know for sure!

Yay! I'm not sure when we're going over yet...I'm thinking earlier in the afternoon rather than later? When were you thinking of heading over?

The bake sale was amazing and SSD is, as always, incrediblely organized, sweet and graceful under pressure. When we went Mooshoes was packed solid, and the baked goods reflected a ton of skill. I got a chocolate cupcake with coconut flavored buttercream with a chocolate porpoise in it, a chocolate cupcake with coffee icing (from Rachel's Cakes (YUM!) and a whoopie pie. I didn't think the lovely cream cakes covered in chocolate with the Sea Shepherd logo would survive, but was so impressed by them. The ultimate piece de resistance were SSD's cake models of the Sea Shepherd ships. Holy mole those were amazing.
Hats off SSD and Sea Shepherd!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday! We had a HUGE turnout and SO MANY delicious baked goods. Doughnuts! Cookies! Cupcakes! King Cakes! I may never eat again.
The whales appreciate it, though my pants do not.

How much was ultimately raised? I really am so happy it was so successful. I feel like the NYC vegan audience really appreciates the high end desserts more than our Montclair unvegan audience did. I felt a bit countrymousey with the PB cookies. Next time I'll make something fancier! Or stick two cookies together with frosting (nom!) Some photos! http://www.facebook.com/?ref=hp#!/album ... 1109694797

Close to $4,000. I'm still trying to offload some stuff at work, so we don't have an exact number yet.
Nah, those cookies were great! And you weren't the only person to bring PB oatmeals, either. People love the classics. But I totally understand where you're coming from. When the person from Cocoa V showed up with Jolly Rogers piped on her cakes too, I wanted to hide because hers were SO much better than mine.

Almost $4,000! Nice! I'm glad it was so successful! I am trying not to eat all of my goodies at once. But that's coconut frosting on the chocolate cupcake with the porpoise on it? Oh darn, I'm just going to have to eat that too since Andy doesn't like coconut and I think he thought it was vanilla.

I might be wrong! There was definitely a hint of some flavoring, which I thought was coconut (but maybe almond). Brett doesn't like coconut either and he proclaimed it really really really good buttercream.
