So, I won a free (non transferable =[) ticket to the Greenwich village food tour while I was trying to win a ticket to see a concert. Anyway, I looked it up and discovered that it's vegetarian friendly but probably not particularly vegan friendly at all. They have (at least in the past) sampled food at Soy & Sake which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy with vegan pride. But still, probably not worth the price for a vegan. Anywaaay...it just got me thinking about a vegan food tour. Does such a thing exist in NY? Google turned up nothing and I've never heard of one, so I'm guessing no. So then, why not? Discuss...

I remember hearing about one once, but I think it was the people who do the regular food tour doing a special vegan one-off.
I think the draw of food tours is that they take you places you haven't heard of before. Most vegans research all the options in their area as soon as possible. I don't think I'd pay extra to walk from Lan to Lula's with a group of strangers since I can do that with my friends for free (the walking part, I mean).

Hmm, good point! Yeah...I guess for NYC, living here and all, I probably wouldn't pay to go on a vegan food tour. And I got the impression that one of the main draws behind the current food tours is the idea that the stops are more...'hidden?' ie: places that tourists might not hear about--which I imagine is becoming more and more rare these days.
Still--I do think that I might pay to go on a vegan food tour of a city I had no experience in.

Yeah, it'd be great for tourists.
