ok I'm going over there now. Website doesn't list their open hours, so we'll see if they're open on a Monday afternoon.

alright! I just finished a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. They are open 7 days a week, 10am (or 11?) until 8pm. Decor is pretty no-nonsense, just a shop, not really room to sit. Two friendly employees, I tried one of their recommendations. They just opened yesterday.
The cupcake. Keep in mind I don't eat out much and consider cupcakes a luxury item, so my baked goods tastes might not be as well developed as some. It was delicious! For $3.27 I will go as often as I can to try to keep them open since I live so close by. I will definitely be trying their burritos and other items.

This place is really cute and I have my fingers crossed for them. I like the idea of a sandwich/baked goods shop. They need to work on consistency though.
We had a vanilla/vanilla cupcake, a chocolate french toast cupcake, and two donuts. The vanilla cupcake was soft and had a good flavor, but was super dense. The chocolate one was very bland and dry. My plain glazed donut was also dense and something about the frying oil tasted a bit off. Shane's vanilla icing donut was about 1/2 the height of mine and as hard and dry as a week old baguette. The items in the display case were very irregular and "homemade" looking (especially the donuts, no two of which were the same size), which made it less appealing. The store was bright and has lots of decorating potential and the woman was very friendly, so I wish them the best.

I went on the weekend and had a red velvet cupcake and a chocolate glazed donut. The cupcake was also very dense but moist and tasted pretty good. The donut was ok, but I haven't been liking fried stuff lately so I'm probably not the best judge. My husband on the other hand reallllly liked it. He also had a chocolate peanut butter cupcake which he said was a bit dry but the flavor was good.

I went back this week and had a chocolate mint cupcake. The cake was moister than the previous time, and better. Sadly it fell out of my bike basket after I'd only had one bite. Naturally I retrieved, scraped off the road sprinkles, and finished it. Damn right, it's a rare luxury! (ok semi rare, I've had two in as many weeks).

i went in there last night and didn't get anything since i'd just been at lula's, but eppy's dm had a good oatmeal cookie. it will be really cute in there eventually, but nothing was really displayed well and it looked kind of sad in there. It has a ton of potential, though and the women who were working in there were really nice. (except that they asked if we were all vegan, two out of 5 of us weren't, but it's kind of awkward to start pointing out who is vegan and who isnt)

We went here for cupcakes after my birthday dinner yesterday. We were initially thinking about having burritos, but it's kinda bare and not really conducive to sitting. So my boyfriend got a French toast cupcake and I got peanut butter chocolate. We really liked the peanut butter one especially, and he couldn't stop raving about them, which was weird because he isn't usually gung-ho about food. Even at closing time, they were tasty, moist, really good frosting. The woman working there said they've been staying open until about 8pm, but since they're so new, they're still working out what their hours should be. It was 8:20 when we showed up, so I'm glad we didn't miss them! I wanna go back already for one of those giant donuts.

i had a vanilla glazed doughnut which i though was great flavour and really soft, but SO oily.not like greasy and fried, but oil gushing out and dripping on my face. my friend erica disagreed and said that it was greasy n good like a krispy kreme. so i half liked the doughnut. the peanut butter bar was okay but really really dry,i kind of felt like they needed go give a complementary glass of milk with it.
so,it seems promising.it's also a really nice space! i didn't notice the burritto bar was actually a burritto bar,it thought it was storage or something at first since there's no sign and it's very undecorated.

I haven't inspected it closely but I agree the burrito bar concept probably needs some work. considering there's not much room for eating in, it would have to be a tightly wrapped burrito to survive transport. It's on my list to try anyway.

I've been there while visiting a few weeks ago. I bought a bunch of vegan treats to bring home. I really liked the red velvet cupcake and the peanut butter and jelly crumb cake. Didn't get any of the sandwiches but they sound good.

two words: FUNNEL CAKE!
get it.
(also, we tried a glazed donut which was awesome, not oozy greasy or anything. and a 'knish' that was stuffed with veggies and seitan which we all really liked, too.) i got a couple of the livingsocial deals - really wanna try a burrito/sandwich/popcorn chicken.. but yeah - the funnel cake is amazing & huge. my friend and i ate half of it and were happy to take the rest back to some other friends to finish.

We went here again yesterday and got a sandwich (the Lone Star—a reasonably good sandwich, but I get the feeling the baked goods are the main event). Then I got more cupcakes today. Still a huge fan of the peanut butter chocolate...mmm.
Funnel cake sure sounds intriguing....

With travel and schedule disruptions I've been away from PPK for a while-- I forgot to come back and post about the burritos we had with our groupon. For some reason I thought that it was a "make your own" burrito bar, but it's not. You tell them what you want, which toppings, etc, and they make it for you. It *is* tightly wrapped and will survive transport, but we ate in at the little counter with stools. Very filling, a pretty good deal for the money, and tasty. I can't remember which variety I had but there were a few fake meat choices and tofu I think? Guac was extra but since they were out of sour cream I asked for a sub of guac and they agreed to that (something I think all tex-mexy places should do!)
To round out the groupon purchase we had something like a cinnamon roll, I can't remember but suffice to say it was forgettable. Dry, I remember that, but it was evening near closing time. I will stick with cupcakes. And go back for burritos definitely.
