Too often too tired to do that after a day at the office, which is the reason I signed up for the course. Aww! You could try doing what they tell you not to do and just cramming as much information as possible into your head in these last few hours. It worked for me a few times! On the other hand, you might find you know enough to get a pass anyway. Good luck to you (and to you, Pi_Face).

Gah, I've just realised my dinner would have been much better had I remembered that I bought a cauliflower yesterday. Also if I hadn't eaten about 5 ice-lollies before my main course so I didn't really have much of an appetite for it.

Tonight, I need to bake a dozen dozen cookies because I am bringing in homemade cookies for my students tomorrow. What the hell is wrong with me.

I just gave my puppy her massage, and after it she got up and grabbed a toy and did a zoomies up and down the hallway! It was just a short zoomie, but she hasn't shown any interest in toys or running around since she got hurt, so I was really happy to see it.

Oh man, I'm only 26, my knuckles aren't supposed to be like this! I can't even carve for more than an hour without all the knuckles in my fingers yelling at me. Is there a particular supplement that would help to keep joints healthy/happy? I actually find drawing/printing starts to get painful too if I do that too long, but it's not as fast as carving.

mars I would get that checked out by a doctor! joint pain in the hands can be a sign of a bunch of serious shiitake. and either way there are very specific things they could probs tell you to do.
I assume you're carving wood or lino blocks since you mentioned print? I would suggest making sure you stop every few minutes just to move your fingers around, I know my joints can get really locked up from gripping the tools for too long.
also, if it is just joint pain and nothing else I can offer my sympathies and suggest developing a taste for ibuprofen.

TOO MANY COOKIES.
Thank god they only take seven minutes to cook, because I only have one cookie sheet, so I have to bake, let them cool, take them off the cookie sheet, reload it, then start the cycle again. I'm already on round four, at sixteen cookies per round. This is going to take forever. *whimper*
I hope I remember this agony next year and realize that baking cookies for my students is a flipping terrible idea.

I hope I remember this agony next year and realize that baking cookies for my students is a flipping terrible idea. Buy another cookie sheet. Get a cookie scoop that works like an ice cream scoop. Make your dough ahead of time and freeze it. Bake half the day before. Don't strangle the jerk kid who says they suck because they are vegan. I made cookies a couple times this year. It does suck, but the kids really appreciate the homemade goodies.

LW, those are great suggestions! Thanks. I want to be able to keep baking for the kids, but MAN was last night a drag. I think I have a baking hangover today, and the later into the night it got, the worse the cookies got. It was hot last night, so having the dough on the counter for a long time caused it to get weird (I didn't think of that, because I am a fool). So the first couple batches are really good, but as one progresses through the cookie pile strata, the cookies get a little more questionable.
Freaking kids. They better like them. Rawr.
Also, we're playing Scattergories today after we finish exam review. This is my favorite thing!

So insanely nervous about the info-night of the culinary school where I want to go in September. Either I'm on the verge of a panic attack or I'm coming down with the flu. Wish me luck !

Before any type of trip, I whip into this freaky overplanning nazi mode. It always makes for a smooth trip because everything has been thought of, but damn it's stressful ahead of time.

I just bought my brother the raddest birthday present ever: He's pretty impossible to shop for, but I think I did good this time.

Flu symptoms and anxiety attack are gone and the culinary school looks like it's pretty much what I wanted it to be. The teachers were open, nice and enthusiastic. They even had experience with other vegans going there, and they didn't send me packing after I told them I was vegan. In fact, they actually seemed to be enthusiastic about me starting school there. After all, I AM extremely determined to make this whole thing work, and I think they could see that. :) Also, one of them called me smart, which was a really nice compliment. So yeah, next year at this time, I'll be a certified cook and all.

Super birthday present, kilgore!
Last Christmas my little brother gave me Tom Waits' Bad As Me on vinyl, and the wrapping paper said, "You're the same kind of bad as me". I don't own a record player, but I really really liked the thought. (Also, yes, there's a CD included.)

I have an interview tomorrow. I need to research the place a bit more, but I'm off all day with nothing to do until the interview at 3, so I can do it then. I really wish I'd remembered to print off my application so I could refer to it. Derp. I might hit the library to do that (I have a book to take back anyway). Part of me wants to spend the day cooking, since I'll just be hanging around while our bathroom sink is fixed, and 'bang?! sent me a link to make my own lemon curd! Oh shiitake, I just remembered I need to clean the bathroom, and I still haven't hung up the laundry.

I sent in a job application recently. I got a reply I can come in for an interview.
First thought: YES. If they had said no to me even interviewing I would've probably had a fit of rage (I haz all the experience they ask for) and started planning moving to the UK anyway (my bf is moving and I am conflicted).
Second thought: "you can come in on monday at 1 pm". Oh great. How about providing me with more options? It's wednesday already, I don't know if I can sort this out at work. It's over an hour commute from my workplace. Plus that makes me miss an appointment with a dermatologist I NEEEEEEEDDDD.

I think the only thing better than watching one of your mentors successfully launch a forking space mission via NASA livestream is probably launching the mission yourself.
