infatuated with a girl I messaged on Okcupid. She is cute, very upfront (which is perfect), and also seems to need to take things slow. I had a date with another guy through OKC who I've vaguely seen around in similar circles, but he hasn't contacted me and I haven't bothered contacting him, so whatever dude. I'll probably run into him again because he's friends of my friends. Hopefully, it won't be too awkward.

I've been on three dates and been texting back and forth with a girl I met on OKC a couple of weeks ago; she is super witty and fun to talk to and I feel like we have a lot in common. She didn't even (openly) judge me for being a fan of My Little Pony!

I just re-joined OKC because my life has been a little boring lately. Oh man, I want to run away already. This otherwise-ok-seeming guy listed LAMB as his favorite food. What in the fork? What is wrong with meat-eaters? Really. I don't think I can do this.

My first date with someone who could be a real date person just happened today. I keep thinking its too early but I just want to! Which surprises me, usually I'm too cynical to date after a break up, it takes me a loooong time.

It was a short date because I had somewhere to go but it was awesome! I had a lot of fun and we seemed to hit it off though I was a babbler. But yeah, it was fun.

Plus, she works as a manager @ the closeout grocery that brought us 5lb bags of Daiya for like $5. Yeah.

buttercup: i usually don't let the omni food comments get to me. lots of people can be pretty open to different diets/ ethics/ beliefs once you get to know them in person. then again, i've never had the luxury of dating someone who was veg, so i guess i have to think that way.

i'm thinking about re-activating my OKC already. i was seeing a guy off and on who was a bit of a flake and not terribly sincere. kinda bored of that, but i think i'd still like to find someone to date.

i was thinking about it and all i want is someone to hang out with once or twice a week, who wants to do fun stuff like go for a hike or watch a foreign film and who wants to be friendly, but also enjoy some happy happy fun time. is that too much to ask? somehow i feel it is.

That's what I'd like too, something not too intense that might grow into something. It does seem too much to ask for me, seems it's an international problem!

But if that's what a bunch of us on here want, then there must be more out there who want it too and maybe somehow we can find each other.

Ahhhhhh Girl I'm dating. I was talking to her about DragonCon and now she's all like OMG, that's so cool, I want to go and I'm like gahhhh, I'm pretty sure you mean in general and just wanting to go, not because it would be a trip with me, but BACK AWAY THIS IS MY CON. We are nowhere NEAR travelling together. Nowhere. Near. And I think it's mostly hypothetical and curiousity about logistics. But still. /end freak out.

One thing I have learnt over the years - there is rarely such a thing as "too far" on the PPK!

I'm not sure I've ever seen someone go too far in instances such as this.

Chittered away to a guy last night, thought it would be just swapping a few jokey emails. Ended up with me agreeing to meet up with him when I can get time. Then turned out that he lives near me, is a biker, has a dog and is into rock music. He told me who he was on facebook so I went for a nosy. Noticed he grew up in the neighbouring village to where I grew up, and where I spent a lot of time hanging out in my teens. Realised I know half his facebook friends and pretty sure, if he's who I think he is, we knew each other when we were 17. NI is such a small country!

She also told me about a closeout grocery called Dickies which can be awesomer than the Amazer.

It would only be too far if you suggested a PPKCorgieOrgy. And even that sounds kind of cute.

So yeah, not only is biker guy the one I remember from when I was 17, he also lives within a 5 minute walk from my house, so weird!

Ooooh, that sounds interesting and promising!

Well see, need to hang out as friends first, having so many old friends in common makes it feel al bit more complicated. He also wants kids. At the very least we can hopefully become friends, doggie playdates could be on the cards!

i know we've shared this before inside the depths of this thread, but i thought i'd re-post: i kinda tried to make over my profile on OKC when i reactivated it the other day. if anyone wants to read it and send me a message, that'd be swell-- i write pretty decent marriage proposals ;) also, i'd like to read yours to see how you cool people decide to portray yourselves over the interwebs. my screen name there is the same as here. i should probably be more sneaky than that but oh well.

It never lets me see any US wimmin's profiles. PM me if you want my name there, if you look at my profile or favourite me it should let me see it then. Mines not so good atm, need to rev it up a bit but can't be arsed. There's about 12 men in my area, 5 of them are veggie and none suitable.

You guys! A year ago today I got winked at on match.com. I checked out the guy's profile and was all like, "I can't even tell what this guy looks like because his pictures look like three different people," but he seemed cool and he raced bikes so maybe we'd have something in common, so I winked back and he emailed me. A year ago! Can you believe it?! We're still 9 days from our actual anniversary but it all started with a wink. :D
