8ball, have you tried the new place where Squeek used to be yet?

Yes, it's still veggie/vegan but is now called Aubergine Cuisine. The portions aren't enormous but the food is good and they do an ace cherry beer. The format is pretty much the same a Squeek, ie the menu changes once a month, one side of the menu is vegan, the other side is veggie. The prices are pretty much the same and I think they're open for lunch on Saturdays.

You can check out their menu here - http://www.aubergine-cuisine.co.uk/menus/adults-menu---june/

My best thing was a thorough beasting in the gym and Chinese food for dinner. I'm stuffed!

Yeah, I saw the website and thought the June menu looked nice. We're going to go to Nottingham in a few weeks to try it (and revisit Annie's of course)

My Lard the Delta Burger is goooooooood! She had vegan donuts on her menu a couple of weeks ago but we were too stuffed to try them.

Giving a big talk at work next Friday, and I just send the final version of the talk and the powerpoint to my boss for review. I feel good about it.

Getting an upper body massage at playgroup today (it was a Mums Pamper Day). AND eating the grasshopper pie I made from Vegan Pie in the Sky.

Today my pre-k kids graduated. I may have cried a tiny bit. And one of the parents gave me a present, which was really sweet of her.

Molly allowed my dad to bring her downstairs. She is angry at me so she won't come any closer than the end of the bed.

Mom made me tofu scramble and potatoes.

Heating pad hasn't helped yet, but hopefully sleep/relaxing will help enough that I can do my stability ball exercises tomorrow.

Maybe I can bribe Molly closer with some tofu...

Got a 25% raise at work today and a promise that my bosses will try and support me in finding ways to challenge me intellectually.

ETA: My immediate supervisor and I had a lovely conversation about beer and types of beer and opening them. I feel like we've gotten on better personally recently whereas before I didn't really know how to not have it be awkward beyond strictly work conversations. (He was failing miserably at opening his beer and I was laughing at him until I reminded him accidentally, since I didn't know he had it, of a swiss army knife)

The last two days were awesome. I'd put in some overtime so I could leave early on Thursday and attend at least part of a workshop on movement in space from ancient Greek drama to modern Western theatre. Went back yesterday after work. Heard some really good talks, had some really good scholarly discussions in-between, and in the end I was invited to join the participants for supper (and beer). More awesome discussions took place, and I even got a lift home. Yay. And my weekend has only begun!

I checked my body composition monitor and in one week, with only two training sessions, I've converted 2.3kg fat into muscle. Not losing any weight as such but this change is still mighty fine!

Wow, that's excellent going 8ball! :)

I went to the gym today and could definitely tell my stamina is improving (which it needed to, since I was pathetically unfit).

Having understanding parents who were not the least bit upset with me when I gave up and went home after my train was delayed for over an hour and a half and I didn't make it to Father's Day.
Having a sweet, caring, understanding, loving partner who put up with me totally loosing it when I got home because on to top of everything else the oven was on and making it even hotter in the house.
Recovering from it all by lounging in my hammock, drinking a mojito, and ppking!
(Overall, It was a really bad day, and I went to post in the worst thing thread, but just couldn't, so for some odd reason here I am being an optimist and posting in the best thing thread instead. Thanks ppk for being there to cheer me up!)

Having Spike out for a cuddle and him wiggling his bum or poking his snout in the air every time I stopped looking at him or stroking his head.

Hiking the Little Haystack Lincoln Lafayette ridge on a gorgeous day with tons of views. Did the whole hike in just over 5 hours (8.8 miles), which means I should probably be able to handle the hike I'm planning next weekend (one way hike over the entire presidential range!!)
