Lunch with my dad (@ city o city). Also, it's been super hot (100 +degrees) in Denver lately and my partner & I don't have ac. My dad got us a teeny window unit to cool our bedroom.

I love City O City! We spent 5 days in Denver last year, and went there at least twice. So good. It's part of the reason Denver is on my short list of places to move some day. That and easy access to mountains.

I went berry picking with a friend, had lunch with friend Panda, met another friend for coffee and long talks, then came home to drink more coffee and sew with a housemate. omigahthebestday

I'm going to a conference in Sweden next month, and just made a date with my ..... I don't know how to call her. She's definitely family, but not in the traditional way. (My Danish 'grandma' was a sanyasini = nun, and this lady is one of her sisters; they took their vows at the same time.) Anyway, I get to see her for a day or two on my way to Sweden. She lives in a small village by the sea about an hour from Copenhagen. So excited!

I just had a super-amazing gym session that I'm sure I'll regret tomorrow when I can't move my arms or legs and can only whimper sad tales of regret to my cats.

Yesterday my friends and I ate takeout from this vegan Jamaican restaurant in Elizabeth Park and then walked around the rose gardens. I forgot how pretty it is there.

yesterday I got to help out with an amazing project, I got off work at noon (yay shifts starting at dawn!) I'm going to go see moonrise kingdom with my friend when she gets off work, and it is beautiful outside.

Spontaneous goodwill stop on my way home turned up a le creuset casserole dish for $12 whooo. Now I just need to decide what kind of casserole to make for dinner.

I got to help make a bored guinea pig happy.

Vlad is out in the playpen with his favourite tube toy. He's been running in and out of it, lying inside it and next to it, chuntering to himself as he pootles about.

Happiness is a warm guinea pig :)

I had a pretty forking cool day, but this goes way beyond radness.

Dad told me to Skype him when I got the chance.. I thought I'd just get to say happy birthday to Grandma (she's been in the hospital. she's not returning home, but going into aged care instead, so I'm guessing her days are getting numbered), but I was actually brought in the middle of her 90th (!) birthday party, and I got to see a huge part of my family, see her cut the cake and see everyone give sappy speeches.

even from the other side of the planet, I still got to be a part of that.

I ran a bunch of errands I'd been avoiding out of laziness/anxiety, bought three new t-shirts (two have cats!), had my first legit good day at work in about a month, avoided riding in a storm (it rained a bit, but wasn't too bad), finally installed the Rosetta Stone so I can start learning French (ooh la la), and my Hurraw lip balm arrived in the mail. And I rewatched the Law & Order Community homage. I love Omar. Good day.

Lots of things today! It was gorgeous in Sydney, almost like spring weather which was a nice change. We went to Ikea, some markets, a new cruelty free shop & bought lots of vegan treats :)
