Ha! Roswell, went there in the 90's just for the Alien museum. What a letdown. I don't know what I expected. And the many, many hours it took to get down there. I love Santa Fe, so pretty. Love adobe style structures.

Yes, Roswell is not really bringing it. I was expecting wall-to-wall kitsch. But it's not.

The nice thing about the alien museum is you can bring your dog. It isn't super exciting though. There is a place nearby in a shop where you can pay to take pictures in alien scenes. That was fun. Also, there is Bottomless Lake State Park which is awesome! You can swim and they have paddle boats and also your dog can swim.

Jealous! In my research to move to ideal places that I will never actually get to move to, I looked at Albuquerque a lot because it has a lot of sunny days, vegan stuff, and seems bike friendly.

To be honest, the bat flight was a disappointment. I thought it was going to be a big swirling black cloud of bats emerging all at once. Instead, it was a steady trickle. 

Next: the caverns.

Carlsbad Caverns

Wow. I want to go to Carlsbad Caverns right now!

Yeah, it was spectacular. A soaring chamber festooned with ribbons and towers of stone. The pictures can't do it justice.

And it was all very Roger Dean-esque.

Carlsbad to Alamogordo:

It is hot. Witness Mrs. Face, proud citizen of the Kingdom of the Fair and Flammable, wrapped up against the sun.
