I did find this. It's an opinion piece, but she points out that in Indiana and Missouri Romney won the electoral votes, but that a majority of women in those states voted for the Democrat opponents of Akin and Mourdock. (There's no citation, though.)

I did a quick survey of my fb feed last night. Based on the comments by Romney supporters I can assess the following:
-Nothing can be attributed to anything President Bush did anymore (not even wars and certainly not the existence of the recession) -President Obama does not get any credit for any thing positive that has ever happened in the past four years. It was either President Bush's doing or America did it in spite of President Obama. -The currently low (comparatively) gas prices have nothing to do with President Obama's policies (correct, however they were all about blaming him when they considered them high) -Any layoffs that take place (even if they were, like in the case of American Airlines*, planned for months now and due in part to their chapter 11 filing over a year ago) since Nov 6 are because Obama was re-elected. -The economy will be in free-fall and unemployment will continue to rise (because you know, the fact that unemployment has been slowly going down is a lie) and it's all Obama's fault for not dropping taxes -Conversely the economy will recover but Obama can not take any credit for this (both economy statements were made in the same conversation, by the same people) - God is in control of things and he will make things right (but he apparently wasn't in control enough to let Mitt win...so is it part of his plan or isn't it?) - The liberals and 47%'ers that voted Obama in are less intelligent than the Romney voters (except for the individuals that commented on their FB post who were Obama voters, those people the poster "knew were smart people" and they were of course exceptions) - Anyone that voted in Obama is a greedy self serving jerk who doesn't understand what it's like to work hard for something (said by the brother-in-law who had no problem going to medical school on his parents, his in-laws, and the government's dime, received food stamps** and all the while neither he or his wife worked and simultaneously went to every single dave matthews band, depeche mode, and u2 concert in a 300 mile radius, participated in every local (and some national) marathon race, and bought numerous ipods back when they were giant bricks and were nice and expensive).
I'm sure there's more but I think that reasonably displays the rife cognizant dissonance that festers among these folks.
* - never mind the fact that the AA layoffs have actually decreased from their original projection.
** - there is absolutely nothing inherently wrong with food stamps, except in his case he fully ascribes to the notion that anyone on welfare (except him of course) fits the image of a welfare queen
I have avoided posting anything that could be misconstrued as gloating to FB but in light of the statements made by folks I have to legally call family it's a damn struggle.

stuff like this absolutely kills me. i remember people saying that the economic good times during Clinton's 8 years had absolutely nothing to do with him and i believe they said something to the effect that an economic policy takes more than 8 years to really take effect so clearly it was Reagan and Bush Sr's doings that made the economy so good in the 90s and nothing to do with Clinton. then the same people turn around and immediately say Bush Jr didnt cause the economic collapse it was all Obama who did it even though it pretty much collapsed before he was in office. STICK TO ONE OPINION PEOPLE! i am not an economist and i dont keep up on these things cause it makes me want to blow my brains out so im not even going to venture an opinion but i do have my own ideas.

I also think its hilarious to watch the GOP pundits spin out of control. They really were so far up their own asparagi that they believed their own hype. And we're hearing the hidden racism made overt thanks to Bill "white people don't want stuff from government" O'Reilly and Pat "White America Died Tonight" Buchanan. Karl Rove speaking about how Obama suppressed voter turn-out is just hilarious. You'd think he of all people would know what real voter suppression looks like. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politic ... -1.1199221

With 78% of the ballots counted, Ref 74's lead is now insurmountable! Washington joins Maine and Maryland as the first states to grant marriage equality at the ballot box! Whee!! Let the weddings begin!

She was storming around yelling "This is why I voted for Romney!!" Because he would make no changes? I tried to tell her she needs actual facts before freaking out like that, but then I gave up and went to go get coffee. Much better. cause you know, Obama is really known for cutting costs and social programs. that's why people wanted to vote for Romney cause he was so into spending and not cutting :-P i had a similar thing happen though not nearly as bad. i have a coworker whom i actually consider a friend so it was even more baffling but she likes to complain about how crappy our employee provided health plan is. i think it's ok. ive had better ive had worse. im just happy to have it. i had to use it like big time 2 years ago and a $100k surgery cost me $500 and that was it so i feel i cant complain. anywho after Obamacare passed she was telling all the women that we now no longer had to pay a copay for a physical and we could get a physical each year (previously our health plan had some weird age bracket thing which she really hated because her kids could only go like every 5 or 6 years or something ridiculous) and that annual women's health exams were free. etc etc etc. anyways she seemed really into the positive things about Obamacare. then i secretly found out she liked Mitt Romney. i didnt say anything cause i dont like to cause issues. the day after the election she posted on facebook an angry/frustrated blurb about how now our taxes are going to go up to pay for this health care plan and how angry she was about it. ummm what?

That reminds of the joke that was told after Obama started pushing for Obamacare. An old woman angrily told him that she didn't want the federal government getting involved with healthcare, especially medicare.
I think once people come to take the benefits of Obamacare for granted, it will be politically difficult to try to get rid of it and the fear mongering will cool down a bit.

Kind of a brag, but it looks my my district is going to get the first openly bisexual congresswoman (Kyrsten Sinema). Also gonna be the only open atheist in the house of reps. Not that I voted for her just for that reason, but I think it's amazing this woman will be representing such an incredibly red state.

I know I'm coming up way short, but I'm trying to come up with a list of Obama's compromises with the GOP during his first term. So far I've got:
Bush era tax cuts remaining intact to get payroll tax passed Pay freezes for federal employees Abandoning the single payer healthcare system and the government sponsored "public option" The 1 year study on the merits of Don't Ask Don't Tell (all the while fighting on two war fronts alongside numerous military forces from countries that had allowed gays and lesbians into the ranks years ago and had proven it was a non-issue) leaving Guantanamo open and continuing the military tribunals approving exploration and drilling in the Gulf following the oil spill and the construction of a portion of the keystone pipeline long before he had any form of a consensus from his own party.
What else?

Florida's ballot was completely insane this year. The legislature put through 11 amendments. At 1am, people in Miami-Dade (heavily Democratic) were still voting. Even if you knew exactly what you wanted to do, it was a 10-15 minute process to vote. My understanding is that they are still counting the mail-in ballots. They have to verify that the voter was registered & that they did not vote in person. There were record numbers of mail-in ballots because the legislature (sense a theme?) decided to cut back on early voting. (Early voting in very popular.) There is also a law limiting the number of early voting sites. In my county, the most densely populated county in the state, there were three sites. The governor refused to add extra days when the lines grew to be several hours long. The solution for many people was to go to their supervisor of elections office, ask for a mail ballot, fill it in on the spot, and turn it in immediately. Oh, our chief of elections is a former lobbyist for the beer industry because that makes you an expert in election law. You can read more about it here: http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/n ... 260762.ecehttp://www.tampabay.com/opinion/editori ... nt/1260463

My facebook feed was rather entertaining to me. For every post about how America is ruined because Romney lost, there was another post about how thankful people were that Obama won. I'm a financially conservative person, but regardless of how I feel about the economy or any other issue in this election, I just can't stand for specifically targeting groups to discriminate against. I felt like the republicans this time around were discriminating against every group possible. Women, immigrants, gays, poor, uninsured. The only group they seemed to think needed to be protected were the ultra-rich. Perhaps they would have helped the economy along (probably not) but I'm not willing to compromise everything else for just the hope of a better economy, especially since there didn't really seem to be a plan to fix it anyways.
