A student group at my school does local food boxes twice a year. They negotiate with local farms/bakers/coffee roasters to put together a discounted box of local foods, and it is always really, really awesome. Plus, they always have special (cheese-free. The omni boxes have cheese.) vegan boxes and they are thoughtful enough to avoid honey in the bread and granola.
Anyway, today was pickup day, and for $35 I got:
-a bunch of kale
-two gigantic bunches of broccoli
-3 acorn squash
-3 bell peppers
-a bunch of beets
-a bunch of rainbow chard
-a sweet potato
-a loaf of fancy whole grain bread
-a pound of granola
-2 12oz packages of organic, fair trade coffee
I'm gonna eat so many vegetables.

I had a little cash and there were lots of tasty vegan things at the deli today- rice and pea pod salad, black bean salad, grapefruit and orange segments, and sauerkraut.

Recorded the drums, bass and guitar to two new songs today for free! The sound engineer is putting together a CD to promote his studio and invited us to get involved. The unmixed versions of the songs already sound pretty good, I'm excited to hear the finished songs which should be ready within a week or two. Putting down vocals tomorrow.

i got to work with a client today who just had their first clear scan after battling colon cancer for 2 years. they were so excited and i was smiling from ear to ear for them!

Yesterday: really swell date with a really swell dude who was all about tofu and greens.
Today: Firefly marathon, knitting, french press coffee. Yeeeeah Sunday.

I'm sorta blown away. Just been offered a headline slot on a gig with The Vile (Rat of Discharge/Varukers is the vocalist) because they think we're better than them!

We used to swaddle both the cats, which was a 2 person operation. Now I can do both cats without swaddling. I just sit in the lap, pet, grab a paw, press, clip, pet, grab other paw, press, clip, etc. By the 4th foot, they are about ready to leave and sometimes one of my cats is extra grumpy so I'll just do the 2 front paws. If they protest, I tell them no and continue on.

Last month, I interviewed for assistant wine buyer at my store. The panel decided to repost the position. I was pretty devastated, but I knew I had been given the opportunity to prove that I could do this job.
Today, I had my second interview, and I got it! A celebratory cupcake is waiting for me when I'm done with class.
